looks like the actual receiver is extremely small.

Can I cut down the size of the receiver close to the size of the receiver? or does it need the whole sticker to properly work

I don't know about cutting it down, I have the larger box with the battery. I probably wouldn't cut the bar code off though.

I thought about getting the new version but haven't seen one yet. I didn't realize the new version was a sticker. I guess it wouldn't be so good for me... I switch between two cars a lot.

not sure if you can cut it down or not since it uses the sticker and as an antenna.
ive had two of them now and they work well behind tint.
had it on the windshield of the corolla before tinting it and it worked ok. now it works better behind the 50%, which i kinda expected since the tint has metal flakes in it.
