Nikon ftw.. I think I'm going to get the d300 soon and give my dad my d5000 cause he likes it alot hmmm maybe ill try and have him buy the 300 and will do a even trade lmao!!!

I got almost no sleep last night. My dog (the one who **** all over my G35) wouldn't stay laying down. I think she was too uncomfortable. I was up a least every hour.

She had to have emergency gastrophy surgery yesterday because she swallowed a mini tennis ball Sunday night. She's so out of it. She just stands and stares at nothing and doesn't move for a few minutes. I feel bad...And so does my credit card.

I agree with jake 100% go out and test different cameras don't just do research on cameras.

Damn sorry to hear that buddy. Hope you dog gets/feels better :-)

A.d300 being your first dslr camera will confuse you lol get a a nice beginner bslr and practice and stuff if you find a d300 for that much its only the body. You will ha e to buy some lenses on top of it

A D300 would be a huge upgrade. If you can, try and get the D300s. It has a few nice features the 300 doesn't... but if you catch a really good deal on the 300, don't pass it up.

Personally, I find the D300 easier to use than the D3000 or 5000
Separate controls for shutter & aperture FTW
