I started working on deleting all of the off topic monthly threads in this section in order to be consistent with how other sub forums off topic threads are handled before you even posted this. I had just finished and was going to let everyone know.

Hmm.. I guess I have more than 5k legitimate posts and the deletion barely made a dent in Ash's post count.

I don't understand what the problem is. We've run our forum the same way for years. All the discussion threads get locked at the end of the month. Why delete them now? I'm not trying to be argumentative but I think our section mods do a good job moderating and we aren't breaking any rules (such as posting pornography, FS threads, etc.). Not trying to be argumentative, just stating my opinion and I believe there is nothing wrong with keeping the threads and locking them.

In order to be consistent with how these monthly off topic/post whoring threads are treated across the forum it made sense to delete the old threads. I agree that our section mods do a good job moderating, this was just an issue of consistency. Given that in other sub-forums their off topic threads don't count towards overall post count it only made sense that this would apply here too. The posts in these threads are chit chat and shouldn't contain useful information that would be needed to be referred to in the future.

 

I agree v.. we never keep threads rolling and they do get locked ... there are so many worthless threads on driver its ridiculous.. we have our thread discussion in here. For us g people to chat and talk about meets and other none sense.. I don't see any reason for coming here and deleteing all our threads we have for our club.

So should we not have a monthly discussion thread??
