I told her there is no set practices on overall design. If there were everything would look the same.

The argument rose after I gave her this layout for a weekly blast we are doing.
She wants me to turn all the font to script and thinks it would be more impactful. I told her NOBODY WOULD CLICK IT. And it would suck and look ugly.
I went on to say this is why you hired me let me design for you. And let me show you what works.

please no cool story bro crap. I really just want someones opinion
Actually, there are still general practices in design when it comes to fonts.

For example, light text on dark background makes serifed fonts a no-no... too hard to read.
For large fonts with only a hand-full of words, you can get a way with bending the rules though.

In your example, I can actually see both ends of the argument have valid points.
It does look plain, and she's thinking a script font would make it more fresh by changing it up a bit and not having all the same font.

But you're saying a script wouldn't look good there (and I agree)
The title looks pretty much fine as-is, but the other text is what really needs working on.

Sometimes it's not the obvious thing (title) but the more subtle (verbiage)

I pulled up the demographic click ratio and it was young adults at 60 percent lol.
If you want to win the argument, stop trying to win the argument.

Just come up with solutions rather than trying to simply disprove her points.

For example, take what Mikey was saying... there's actually a way in Photoshop (I'm sure it could be done in other Adobe products as well) to kinda do the ghosted fade/shadow that's very subtle and doesn't look over-done at all, but at the same time does and excellent job of making white text one a light background really 'pop'

Hey everyone. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I spent all day yesterday (seriously all day) cleaning my apartment. It's almost like I just moved in! Work has been a struggle but my management is in the process of restructuring my job description and pay plan, so everyone keep their fingers crossed for me!
