Well, I appreciate the input...but now I think I'm more lost actually. I don't think i'm going to bother with any of the major mods, but I may consider FI now.

If you like to mod, FI is the way to go. Everyone who has the guts to do it (the right way) has gained my respect. I personally don't want to deal with the hassle of going turbo or S/C, voided warranty, and then uninstalling it when I want to get rid of the car or losing a ton on the sale. Boost is addictive.. I know this much, that's why my next car "when I grow up" will be an M3 or a c6. The G is just a nice little toy to me, whether at 14.9 or 14.1s.

I have the same concerns over the S/C or FI, at least while I am under warranty. The reliability of N/A is too valuable to be lost on a daily driver.

The M3 is nice but, I can't see mid $60's for an additional 35HP over the G and. . . The G still beats it in beauty any day of the week.

Never buy a BMW new, people don't call it Big Money Wasted for nothing 35hp more than the G, but a whopping secord faster in the 1/4, so hp doesn't mean everything.. I could have picked up a 2003.5 M3 6 speed (no engine recalls) 30k miles max for 2 to 4 grand more than my G. Nothing beats BMW CPO warranty 6yrs/100k. If not, c6 Z06 here we come, 500hp and I bet you in 2-3 years they'll cost as much as a new G now.
