Gives you 34K to play around with
I'm going to pick up a slightly used one (mainly because I don't care for losing $20k in depreciation in one year), so I'm going to have 600hp for about half the price of a blue devil. If not, there's always germany. I wish I didn't get tired of cars so easily. I'd dump everything into the G and keep it forever.

Dan, I'm going to be at Lokey on the 12th of August. I'll bring my shift light and the gauge pod. You tell me EXACTLY how you want them to hook it up and I'll make sure they at least install the light into the pod and leave the wires taped to the side of the dash (between the dash and the door). What material can I use as a plug so that you won't see the edges of the drilled hole in the gauge pod?

Also, for $65K I can't think of any other car I'd rather have than the C6 Z06... and for $100k you're getting a S/C'd Z06 that they'll probably sell less than 1000 of... now that would be a nice conversation piece for a collector.

Agreed. Anything else in that price range (OEM with no mods) can not compete with the Vette's performance.

Thats the problem....ya'll are just looking at performance. Yes...the Viper and Vette are beasts, but for that much money, I expect a whole package with many creature comforts and a car that doesn't look like a $40,000 cousin.

And the $100,000 level is just dumb. Now you are competing with Astin Martin, Benz SL500, used Porsche Turbo, used Ferrari. Not exactly Chevy category. And people who can spend $100K on a car can certainly afford better. But you guys are right..performance wise, it doesn't get much better until you get to the $170K mark.

It's cousin will cost you more than $40K. Fully loaded you are looking at $50 so for an extra $15K that is one hell of a deal.

Agreed. I wouldn't pay $100K for a Vette no matter how fast it is. Although I would consider slapping on an APS TT on the Z06.....$65 + $12K (estimate) =$77K for one sick machine. APS should release the TT kit next spring, but nah, I am not going mod anymore cars.

I've driven in a z06 many times and I've driven a c5 myself, and all I can say is that I'm impressed with how comfortable this car is to drive even as a daily. The 6MT is absolutely effortless and the Bose sounds 5x better than the junk they put in the G. Not to mention how mod-friendly the LSx engines are. The interior is blah, but it's the kind of car that once it gets moving, you don't notice it anymore. But if you're coming something like a benz or a bimmer that has idrive, cruise control that automatically slows you down when there's a car in front of you, or different A/C temperature settings for the footwell and dash vents, then a Vette is a really hurting car. All depends on your point of reference. The biggest turnoff is still depreciation to me.

I agree about every single car you listed, but the SL5.. if the 3-series is south Fl's civic, then the SL5 is like a sebring or miata here. And performance is very disappointing for a $100k car. I guess for 100k I'd much rather have a Porsche. Or a used M6. There we go dreaming again

Since this thread has already drifted off topic a few times... there's one question I 've always wondered about... I'm sure it's a FAQ, but...

Hey Neffster, what's with the cucumber and tomato?
