APS Cat back or HKS Hi-Power with APS ST or TT?
Posted the question in the exhaust forum and wanted to get some local advice too
and maybe a helping hand for install?? I want to do it myself, maybe with somebody coaching?
Yeah, sooo..............
I'm holding out on my APS TT or ST kit (Still haven't decided yet, really depends if i'm going to build my motor) But in the end I'll still be needing a new exhaust. Never installed one before, but been itching to get my hands dirty lately. Since I'm going to get a turbo kit, would it be better if I went with the APS cat back system (guess that would make nearly everything APS ) or should I get a HKS system?
Those are the two I've really been considering, and I'll put my FI fund at a standstill for a while since I really need to do a mod now. I'm dying from seeing others mod (Alan's car is probably gonna make me dip into the mastercard and start building a block later
), and I really need to get under the car and do something other than change the oil.
I've also looked at the Borla system, and its seems promising as well, cheap too. Anyone have any input as to which system would be best for my future setup?? Thanks Guys...

Alan's running the Borla with no problems what so ever. I'd personally prefer an exaust with not as many connections.
Can you post photos of the APS exhaust beside the HKS? I would like to see how both of them flow, know their diameters, etc...

APS High Output True Dual
"Polished 304 Grade Stainless Steel twin 2.5 inch - in / twin 2.5 inch - out / True Twin Internal APS muffler. 304 Grade Stainless Steel is manufactured with higher nickel content than traditional 409 Grade as used in other systems. 304 Grade is not only more robust at high exhaust gas temperatures but also delivers a more durable finish."
HKS Hi-power Titanium
"Full Dual Polished SUS304 Stainless Steel Piping w/Dual Titanium Tips (adjustable length), Includes H Pipe Width: 60mm"
Alan's car sounds great, makes me want my turbo now!
But I think I'll settle for an exhaust or plenum or both
for the time being. Turbo would be on the horizon...
I think I'd better cut up all the credit cards if I go to dyno day....

I love my hks hi-power exhaust, it has been great. But there is somehting to be said about sticking with all aps parts. You should go see and hear them in real life before you deicde on which you liek best.
to make my post a little bit worth while.... heres a pic of the back of my exhaust. i wasnt sure if i would liek the burnt blue tips... but they have really grown on me.

...thanks for the input guys, the APS was quoted to me for $1928 w/install the HKS $1100 not installed.
But I want to do it myself so I figure APS would be -200 or so? Well, yes the APS is alot more, but I'm trying to weigh performance with the price as well. I want the system to be efficient with the turbo kit I get. But yeah I'm still trying to save money at the same time.
So far I think I'm 60/40 with the HKS being on top, but APS parts going with other APS parts seems logically better. Oh well, still thinking, right now, but I might just end up ordering a Borla or something by Monday since there's specials on them right now...
