No problem. The only beef I have with the HU is that there is no auxiliary input (that i can find). I'm trying to figure out a way to hook my ipod up to it, but I don't think i can without the crappy FM transmitter.

Now, there IS a video input (for stuff like ps2) that has 3 RCA's (1 video and 2 for audio), so I'm wondering if it'll work if I just use the 2 audio and hook that up to the ipod. Maybe i'll try that this weekend to see if that works.

Yeah that will work I did it with my Pioneer HU in my old car before I went with the i-pod adapter. You won't get the i-pod menu on screen, but you will get full stereo sound. Once Eclipse comes out with an adaptor it will be sweet.

There's an ipod adapter for pioneer? I thought they only made them for alpine and oem stereos.

OK, here are a couple...

Hmm... Maybe I should have used a tripod... Nah...

It would be nice if the AVN5435 had amber controls instead of green, but it's not the case. I normally keep my dash controls down pretty low, so it looks good.

Yeah Pioneer does. I had the Pioneer AVIC-N1 with the pop out screen. and use the Pioneer CD-IB100 to connect my I-pod.(Link allows compatible Pioneer receiver to control an iPod • artist/song info appears on Pioneer display • charges iPod battery when driving) Allowed full control from the touch screen and artist, playlist and song title to scroll on the screen. But I like the built in look much better. I am going the Car PC route thie time - and as soon as God_ofthe_CPU is done with the screen housing for the Aftermarket Nav for the '05, I will have it in there

The black plexiglass piece did not come with the AVN5435. Matt (Stereorama) made my plexiglass piece.

The height of the Eclipse AVN5435 is slightly shorter than a full doubledin opening. I don't know why Eclipse doesn't provide a trim piece to make up the difference, but they don't. The plexiglass piece Matt made fits under the Skyline dash piece and is machined out for the door of the AVN to slide in and out when it opens. It is the thickness of the Nissan dash piece below the face of the unit.

You could make a flush trim piece that fit between the dash opening and the AVN5435, but it would have to be very thin on the sides. You might have to glue it in. Hey... that's what makes this stuff fun... everyone does their own way.
