Chuck,

Thank you . . . Thank you for your DIY link. It was extremely helpful. This link is a must. It takes all of the install uncertainties out of the equation. Especially, for someone such as myself.

Daniel,

The Window Up mod rocks big time. It installs very cleanly and works to a fault. It is a must mod in my opinion. This is how our cars should have come from Infiniti in the first place. Thanks!

According to the 04 sedan service manual the crank wire is brown, but its pin 95. There are three brown wires, just like the sedan. However, the service manual only documented the A/T tranny, so it MAY differ to the 6mt. I don't have any info on the 6mt!

Hey guys, I need some help. I'm looking for someone who has an 2003.5 coupe and has installed the shiftlight. I can't get mine to work. Which wires did you 03.5 owners tap into.

Orange goes to blue/yellow vdc wire
Black goes to vdc black
Yellow goes to black wire w/fuse and to ?
Blue goes to ?

I hooked my black/fuse to the cigarette lighter and I can't find a rpm signal wire. Any help is appreciated.

those pictures are from an 03.5 coupe cause thats what i have.
yellow goes to fuse and the other end goes to the black red wire on teh ignition harness.
blue goes to the crank shaft position sensor wire in pin 13
you can also use one of the other wires that kevin has posted on www.kptechnologies.com/forums
i also responded to your questions on there.

Does the power source matter. Is the fact that I am using the cigarette lighter for a power source screwing up the rpm signal?

No, the power source doesn't matter. In a car, all power originates from the same place. So, as long as your have enough power (which you do) you are fine. Check out the KPtech forum for detailed instructions on how to use a volt meter to find the correct wire.

To test the crank angle sensor set your digital multimeter to the AC setting. Put the black lead to ground and the red lead to the desired wire. With the car idleing you should measure a small voltage (say 1vac or so). As you slowly raise the RPM (in neutral) the voltage should rise with the RPMs. If the voltage does not rise with the rise in RPM then you have the wrong wire.

I'm building up the ambition to attempt this mod again. I have a good power source and have correctly spliced into the vdc switch. I am looking for a signal wire. For owner's of 2003.5 coupes with 6 speeds, what color wire did you use from the ecu harness. I have tried all of the brown wires and found one that had the correct idle voltage, but the voltage did not increase with the rev's. I am probably the only person who can take a simple 2 hour job and turn it into a 12 hour nightmare. Thank you in advance for any help.
