Toothpaste question need HELP

Some little **** kid opened their car door on my rear quarter panel it didnt scratch the paint but it looks like the other cars paint rubbed off and the clear coat finish is dull. I heard toothpaste can take most of this problem out is this true.

Pleas Help its a week before the big meet and i want my car looking as good as possible.

The very same thing happened to me, but the person who did was nowhere to be found (good thing for him, I would have Bruce Lee'd him).

Try clay barring or multiple thin layers of Meguiar's Scratch X on the spot where the leftover paint is.

I just might have to clay bar it. I tried washing it then going over the ding with a detail brush, No luck. I haven’t tried toothpaste yet but my father in law says that should do the trick.

When I saw the topic I was instantly thinking that Colgate total is one of the most active toothpastes you can buy over the counter and I would recommend it to anyone unless their mouth was very sensitive....

then I read your post

sorry to hear that.

I've only related toothpaste to teeth, the mouth, and certain stains on clothing.

Good luck and tell us how it turns out.

Adrian

So i was to scared to try the toothpaste because i didnt want to damage the paint so I went to Discount Auto parts to get some clay bar and they were out they called another Discount store down the street and they had one kit left. The put it on hold for me. So I headed out and dropped in to AutoZone first (because it was closer) to see if they had clay bar. Didnt see any so i asked the kid at the register. I said Do you have any clay bar he was like What? I said do you have any clay bar. He said what is that I then started to explain to him what clay bar is and then I said nevermind Ill go to a store where they know what it is. Pretty Scary Beware of idiots out in the Car Industry.

Long story short I picked up the clay bar and Ill try it in the Morn and let you know how it came out.

Sorry it was so long but i thought it was insane that some working in a Car shop didnt know what clay bar is and this is coming from a Car Retard.

Clay bar is my new best friend I can Hardly see the damage to the rear quarter Panel. That could be because there is no light outside.
