Congrats Jason. As you know, I am also changing my career. I'm glad you're doing something you enjoy and are passionate towards. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great. Hey Dan I have some commercial property in Palm Bay. Zoned, drainage, street access everything. Oh that's right you have to stay in Orlando, lol.

Thanks Alan. As you know...it feels really nice to know that you'll be doing something you love. My dad is a well known architect down south and I just never had the passion to design buildings (of course if I would have known autocad would have been around...may be different story). I have been around construction and developing my whole life and I am really excited about this. Too bad the housing market has slowed considerably...but....there is still money to be made....if you find the right markets.

Rosie palm and her five sisters? Nothing beats alone time with the girl to "work out" frustration. LOL.

Quote: Hey guys....for those who do not know, I have decided to change carreer paths in my life. Today is my final day of working as attorney, at least for now. I have made some great connections here in Ocala and will now pursue land acquisitions and developments. With this new self-employed lifestyle, I will be able to spend more time back home where I love (and where my g/f is), but at the same time be able to continue striving for the big prize in land developing. There is money to be made in Ocala and I can't leave just yet. But it was impossible to fully dive into the property venture while being an attorney and having a long distance thing. So....I quit my job a few weeks ago and today is it. After today, I will be spending half my time in Ocala and the other half down south. I think I will be so much happier and fullfilled choosing this path. And if the economy ever turns south or whatnot, I'll always have my Juris Doctorate to fall back on. I would regret it if I didn't try. So...off I go. Wish me luck....

ps. I may have to buy a beater pickup truck as I don't think my car (especially with the Greddy front) will be usefull trucking around undevleoped properties. Hahaha.

Spend some time finding yourself a good civil engineer. With all of the comprehensive planning, concurrency test and land development regulations, they are truly worth their weight in gold. A good civil can more than pay for themselves many times over.
