Richard Petty Experience
Richard Petty Experience
I went to Disney the other day and saw the Richard Petty Track what a rush. Man we have to go as a group. I asked the price to ride the cars. They told me $399.00 you drive the beast yourself 8 laps or $80.00 the instructors drive you 3 laps. I saw people driving the cars at 150 + man it looks so coo. The lady told me if we got 30 or so people to sign up they would give us a discount on the $399.00 I dont know how much. Also Im sure they would give us one on the $80.00 one for 3 laps. I just want to see how many people would be interested and then we can pick a date. I think this is a great experience for everyone. Most of the prices I think are quoted without taxes. http://www.wdwinfo.com/recreation/petty.htm

It's pretty fun I drove one last year. You only get to mid 120's, I wish it was 150's. They start you off in an instructional class inside then you go out to the track for more instructions before you drive. It's a nice rush when your behind the wheel of a stock car.

Seems like the smart thing to do would be get a ride with an instructor to pick out the lines and stuff like that, and then drive the car yourself for the eight laps. Sounds like fun. Good thinking, Steve!

Jb- There's really no need to do a ride along first if you intend on driving. They let one person out. You follow behind an instructor and follow his lines. Once your half way around the track they send another car out following an instructor so your at opposite ends of the track. The only downfall to this is if the other guy is slow it will hold you up. If you drive you'll be glad you did it's a fun time.

The way these cars are setup the turns seems like nothing. I never took my foot off the gas you go high in the straight aways and go low in the turns but don't let off the gas.
