CJ had a good idea! If we want to do fastest lap time award.I do not trust someone with a stopwatch when money is up for grabs. A .10 of a second off by a push of a button can cost someone money.Now what we can do is who ever wants in the fastest lap comp.(DOT tires only) can put up an equal amount of money so we can puchase an actual in car lap timer with transmitting beacon and all for a total of $249+ shipping.Then the person who records the fastest lap time keeps the timing equipment.Sounds like an idea to think about guy's.Here is a link to the lap timer I have found to be the best deal.

yeah, the first thing i thought of when we decided to do the track day was a cash pool and winner takes all. then we figured if we have people timing us there will be room for error. this will be fun.
maybe i will just buy the equipment and we can do the time trials for money the way we thought we would at first. then i will have more reason to try to win it...

To my knowledge there will not be flags available for us.My simple solution is too bring two shirts 1 Black means you come in to pit/and end of session,the other would be yellow for caution someone is off track/and it will also dub as debris flag.
With all that has been mentioned it all sounds great sounds like I'm attending a track day with Chin.As far as tech inspections thats a little too much I will as I stated expect everyone going to have their car up to safe conditions that is your responsibility.I know most all of these people and they take their car seriously and would not put them or their cars in jeopardy by coming out on tires with steel belts showing etc.I will bring my torque wrench out so everyone can hit a couple lugs per wheel to be sure.What I will require before we all hit the track is a small drivers meeting, everyone has read and understands the rules, then signs off on the track rules sheet.If you go out in your first session and go off track a few times your day will be done.Thats the track rule not mine,thats the reason for the signing of the rules, so your fully aware and acknowledge them.Not saying it will happen you just never know.Say someone is having a hard time getting thru the corners smoothly that person needs to simmer down finish out the session and talk to someone with experience to help them find out why.
The ideas are great and I support them completely because I want this to be a fun safe day.

2.Clean out the car of all loose items including the spare tire, includes floor mats

A track timer sounds very cool. Running the track will be fun by itself but a little timed competition takes it up a notch for me. However, if the $250 timer bill and insurance bs causes problems I'm still bringing my stopwatch and cash.
I only have a cai and pulleys on a 5AT sedan, plus being a total noob on the track, I don't expect to be winning against this field. However, I will take some poor suckers down head to head because I have a dangerous combination of confidence and sack.
I have a couple of personal predictions for this trip.
1. I will be in the market for some performance modifications the following week.
2. I will be joining the club and doing this more often as I can see being a total racing junkie.
Let's get it ON!

That's a great combination for winning races and learning a lot. You do need to have an "Oh ****" meter though as to not do anything stupid. I'm going to try to get us to be able to ride passengers so that we can learn from each other.
As for your #2, check out http://www.nasa-southeast.com for their HPDE's (High Performance Driver's Education). It helps with the track addiction. Florida has a NASA chapter too. They will visit a lot of tracks this year. We'll be at Roebling in 2 weeks, Road Atlanta later in August, VIR, Rockingham, and CMP.
