This is for sure... Twin turbo gives you power right from the start. While Single Turbo gives you power primarily in the high RPM's.

In other words... Twin turbo has no lag in power unlike single turbo.

That is VERY generalized. I would try searching the FI forum, this topic has been coverd a bizillion times.

+1 on meatbag's comment. There's several factors that come into play when you decide to go with a turbo / twin turbo setup. The FI forum has a ton of info on both setups that should help you make a solid decision...

You're kidding right? The difference in boost threshold between either of the ST kits and any of the TT kits is at MOST 500 RPMs. All of them spoll before 4k. The Turbonetics kit for sure between 3200-3800 with the Greddy and most others spooling at 3000-3500. That being said for the most part the single turbo systems give you better mid range and high end power where as the smaller twin kits typically start dropping off in the high end. I prefer the midrange topend of my kit as opposed to twins and so do many others. Of course there are people of the opposite opinion. I will say that the ST kits are running the same if not faster 1/4 mile times then the twins with the same tires. Out of box performance is identical if not better in some cases with the ST kit. And the ST kit costs less and is cheaper to have installed.

I have the JWT TT and that starts spooling at 2k rpm's. I have full boost at 3k and the torque is ridiculous.

It depends on the turbo efficiency of the setup you decide to go with... please read more information and do a bit of research on compressor maps before you throw around baloney.

The fact that you decide to go with a single vs a twin has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the power potential. For the VQ engine... since it's configured in a V... naturally you would probably want to stick with a twin setup. But if someone has made a single kit that can fit... then why not?

A single setup will be easier to get higher pressure ratios (I'm talking about 30+psi) once you start flirting with the actual effective range of the turbos... so I'd say that would really write a lot of you guys out.

100% correct, twin ball bearing turbos will produce the quickest spool and the most horse power/torque under the curve as the boost delivery is much faster than any single turbo design on a V6 engine.
