Add in fabricating your own plenum to mount the blower to the block and do you break even? Technically it's probably not that hard, realistically it's not that easy.

Like I said, I may be stupid. Does the Stage 1 kit use the same box under the blower just minus the intercooler???

All I am doing is just throwing out ideas. It kind of aggravates me that everyone takes the "everyone else is doing it so it must be good" approach. Like mama used to say, if everyone jumped off a bridge would you?

yes the stage 1 has the same plenum,it does have a divertor panel just above the runners.the stage 2 deletes the divertor panel and it gets replaced with the heat exchanger.

Wasn't trying to ridicule you. Here's the install manual it has a few pictures of the plenum. http://stillen.com/product_files/407...70-71-72IC.pdf I think the roots type system has serious potential, if that power band was 50hp and 50tq up higher and still relatively safe it would be just about perfect.

Nah, I didn't take it that way. I agree that if I still need to buy a hood just get the intercooler and be done with it.

I was just trying to avoid buying a hood, I think they are ugly.

Go with the stage 2 you will not regret it. It is so much fun having that power on demand regardless of what rpm you are driving at. If you are looking for a fun kit that is still reliable but not a HP monster it is perfect.

The hood looks way better in person. Here is a pic of mine:
