ques about road course racing and turbo

Sorry if this sounds like a newb question.

I was just wondering if anyone has taken their turbo G's to road course racing without an oil cooler? I just want to know if i will take a big risk blowing my motor if i were to go through the courses with just the basic setup (look at sig).

thanks for any imput.

I ran my car on the Pocono raceway only for about 3-4 laps, and not driving really fast, and my oil temp was approx. 250 or so. i would recomend spending the 300 or so and get one.

It will not get as hot as a Turbo but I am going to be getting a cooler for my Vortech to be on the safe side... Why pay all this money and have it go "boom" on you?

daily driving it'll probably never get much above 225-230 degrees even on the hotest and longest days. But on the track you're going to want an oil cooler no matter what FI you're using

The turbos spin at a much much higher rpm than a supercharger - roughly 3x as high. That's why turbos actually need waste gates - because they spin so fast and generate so much boost that if you didn't have the waste gate, you'd quickly blow the engine. Either way the turbo will still spin at around 150k rpms even though you're only using say 50-60k worth of rpms to generate whatever 8 psi, the rest goes out the wastegate, and your engine oil will have a taller order of heat to cool than with a supercharger
