If I do that, then I will want to get 100K miles from my turbo, since an SPG built motor should last..........
I'm not sure how hot the GReddy setup runs, but the APS TT is very cool. I can drive my car, put my hand on my hood and it's cold. Really crazy how cool it runs and it is definitely as close to an oem setup as is out there right now. If you want a daily driver kit with minimal changes IMHO it's APS. I'm not saying GReddy isn't good, it's just more of an ala carte deal that you setup for your particular goals.

So, then, to summarize:

As a general rule, the setups are the same in terms of cost once you get all the extra stuff that comes standard w/ the APS.

However, I am getting a really low price on the Greddy, so in my case it really does cost less by about 800 dollars.

The APS turbos are better, but I have heard that the Greddy intercoolers are the bomb.

Thanks for the info, guys...anyone else?

remember, you are not getting the "same same" turbos with either kit.....

ball bearing turbos are always going to cost more, ... b/c they are flat out better. Just saying that b/c the price difference for the garretts vs the 18G is easily $1000.
As for the intercoolers, ... Greddy's are horizontal flow, tube and fin design, ... APS's are vertical flow, bar and plate design.
The vertical flow, bar and plate is going to be much more efficient.

people will argue that with whichever core they sell, or personally like better. It will depend upon the application and location as to which one is 'better'.
In an open, unblocked, front bumper location, the style aps uses, the vertical flow(shorter distance, less pressure drop) bar and plate's the way to go.

btw, ... I love Greddy and APS products, .... i'm just stating the way I see things ...

Interesting....so the APS really is a slightly better system....However, I think that the Greddy will give me all the power I want.

The question is, whill the Greddy last a full 100K miles?

I ask because eventually I would like to do an engine rebuild. In that case, the TT would do maybe around 20 K on my stock internals and then at least another 80 on the rebuild.

Will it last 100 K?

Actually, its 1500 more, but I will get a fuel return worth 1K.

Of course the APS doesn't fit the Rev-up motor as well....however, I heard that they are coming out w/ a kit for the Rev-up

I heard that is you use solid motor mounts you can raise the motor a bit and it will fit the rev up.

I read the APS/Garret articles...it seems ball bearings are the future for turbos....APS/Garret is definately superior.
