Calling All G's With Aps St!
Calling All G's With Aps St!
I am planning on purchasing an APS single turbo. But i was wondering if there was any turbo lag or any other technical problems to the turbo system. Can you please tell me how you came down to your overall decision of getting the aps st.
theres very little lag with the JWT, with the aps theres gonna be more lag
that and correct me if im wrong but jwt kit doesnt come with a bov its a recirc kit
jwt you have more power potential than aps also... im picking aps ST for the fact that its a really good deal if you dont plan on building the motor in the future

been following your posts...so stop wasting our time.
i thought you had already decided on the JWT? For the same money as an APS ST, it's a no brainer.
Turbo lag really depends other mods that have been done on the car, so too difficult to compare apples and oranges.
I chose the ST cause it was cheaper than anything else out in the market. Did not want a SC because of the extra noise added during normal driving. With a turbo, you can drive it like it was N/A, nice and quiet, and step on it when you wanna have fun.
Chose APS over Turbonetics because I felt it was more a complete kit.
If I had to do it again and the JWT was the same price, I would go with the JWT. They are supposedly getting the kit CARB certified, so you get to enjoy a carb-legal kit, important if you are in CA. The APS will NEVER be carb-legal.
I really don't know you are debating?

yah sorry, i just figured that the Jwt TT is extremely good, but i thought that since i knew i wasnt gonna do much in regards to engine building, i would go with the aps st. Sorry if you guys were wasting your time, just needed more facts, input, etc. Im sure im going with the aps st. I swear, picking a turbo is ultimately a mind game. Drsifu1 thanks for posting and following up with great pointers. Thanks guys!

but im in the same boat as you.. JWT, APS, TN, Greddy... all great setups some of their pros and cons, i chose aps for the price and for the fact that its a complete kit out of box.

With the price drop the APS ST is one of the best FI deals out right now. If I could get someone to give me a little bit of a deal to be the first sedan to try it I would make the change.

I just spoke to Dynocomp here in Phoenix, they are an APS dealer. They told me they have stopped selling the ST kits because they have had quite a few problems with them. He also said he believes that the price drop is because they are going to discontinue them.

I didn't ask too many question. I was stunned because I was thining about taking off my SC and getting one from them. The kit was "not made to the same strick standards as the TT kit" and I believe he said "mediocre" or something like that. He also said the install was almost as time consuming as the TT kit.
