So I just got my old stage 2 split second box out of the garage and decided to open it up. Well look at that... there is a serial port on the inside! I have always been told the box is locked and can't be tuned because there is no serial port. Maybe there is hope. We'll see soon.

 

Just got an email from my dyno guy and he said to bring it by so he can make sure he can get into it and they didn't somehow lock the program.

 

What's a split second box?

 

It's the piggy-back fuel/timing controller that comes with the Vortech and Stillen superchargers as well as some other kits. It's job is to manage the additional fuel and adjust timing to compensate for the boost.

The box is usually unlocked; meaning it can be tuned by someone with the right software and experience. Well the Stillen box is not supposed to be tunable but that may not be so true...
