Project Double Down Does Formula D...NASCAR
Project Double Down Does Formula D...NASCAR
Hello,
As you may know, we have been getting more and more involved with Drift and have met some great folks.
After Co-Hosting a Drift-Day, Naoki from the Drift Association asked if we wanted to participate in the Drift VS Grip Showdown at Irwin-dale...
We of course jumped at the opportunity and brought two VRT Star Cars for the event.
350zNv's Modified Featured "Project Double Down Car"
and
Eagle1's White Beauty whom has graced the pages of both Sports Compact and C16 Auto-style.
So, Last week, we were in the mix with the greatest Drifters in the world and Champion NASCAR CUP racers.
350zNV's car was a hit and NASCAR's Robby Gordon, Casey Mears, and Scott Wimmer literally went out to learn to Drift.
Thanks MB for letting us have some fun with Your Baby. Hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed making it.
Special Props to:
Mike B (She Ran Great), Ed Reeser (No Ed we didn't drift your beauty, she just looked pretty in the pits) Scott, Frick, and Gary (NM Drift)
Thanks to:
Scott Wimmer
Robby Gordon
Casey Mears
Falcon Tire
Taka - Will build you a sick Formula D Car ASAP
Stretch
Irwin-dale
Drift Association
Diane (NASCAR)
Jay - Sports Compact
Steve Levy- C16
Derek - DSport
Mike - Modified
Bob and Tammy
Viet, Ralph, and Beau - Drift Day
Brian at Mackin
Tanner Foust (looking to sweeten the ride soon)

And More.
Peace

Hahaha, thanks guys.
Disco_Monkey - We kindof got the shaft on the tires from Falken because it was slim pickins by the time we got to their booth. It ended up with my old, corded 285/30/18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup R-Compounds on the front and some Falken 255/35/18 street tires in the rear. That probably made it a little hard to drift, especially with 554whp and 690wtq on 255s
.
NoLimit - My car was fully insured by D1GP from the moment it entered the gate. I was acutally hoping they would bang it up a little so I can get a new paint job

Hat's off to 350zNV (Mike B), we appreciated him allowing VRT to get the keys to the NASCAR drivers. We had some other cars lined up, yet D1 insisted they were rolled-up for safety!
All good, just a trip to Vegas to pick her up, a day preparing her, and a trip back to deliver her for HIN Vegas. Thanks Again Scott and Bob.
