Infiniti says TN ST voids tranny warranty

I have an 03 G35 sedan 6mt that I installed a TN turbo in Dec. of 05. This car is already on it's second tranny, replaced in Feb. 04, it was very hard shifting into to 2nd when cold. It now has a growl when accelerating in 5th gear. I took it to the dealer and was told that any modification between the throttle body and the catalytic converters voids the power train warranty! Has anyone recieved warranty work to their tranny after installing a turbo?

Not true. They have to prove that whatever mod you did directly affected that one particular component. If I added a plenum spacer, they have to prove that it was the cause of the problems in the tranny, which is completely ridiculous since neither components have anything to do with each other. The tranny is still covered under warranty.

Now as for turbos, the could make the case that the turbos brought the power output of the engine to a point where the tranny couldn't handle the power and caused it to fry the clutch. That would be a valid point on their side.

Are you kidding? You expect Infiniti to honor any sort of powertrain warranty after you install an aftermarket turbo system that dramatically increases all forces in the system? I'd go in to a turbo system purchase assuming all powertrain warranties were voided, unless you can remove it without a trace.

i just got my tranny replaced, and was surprised to hear that a bloke with the APS TT just got his tranny replaced under warranty. Apparently it was due to the fact that he still had his stock clutch and flywheel on, however now that he's replaced both cluth and flywheel with aftermarket parts if he does encounter transmission problems the warranty will be void

Um news flash, a turbo kit is not going to destroy your synchros like that. BTW this isn't even a new problem. People have been killing tannys bone stock. The synchros suck in this trans.

My dealer replaced my tranny with my Stillen stage 4 and all my other mods without a fight. They even installed the clutch and flywheel I brought them while they were in there.
