Lifetime of your motor with TT on..

Question: For all you twin turbo'd folks..
1) How many miles since you've installed the turbo onto your car?
2) Are you daily driven?
3) How many months/years has the car gone strong?
4) Motor/tranny work done? (aside from the stuff that you got from your turbo model specified kits)

EX. 15,000 miles. Daily driven, for 2 yrs. Upgraded fuel lines, catch can, tranny cooler, yada yada, etc. etc.

Basically, i'm looking for the longevity of all your turbo'd guy's motors. Built motor/tranny, or not.

Let's see who's gone the longest without (God forbid) any blown motors within the first year of installation.

Thanks all.

Better to look over at my350z FI section. Ton of information and ton of blown motors.

FYI, some people have blown their TT motors with under 400whp in a couple months and some are going strong with 450+ whp, 15k+ miles and stock block. Good tune and luck of the draw on engine I guess.

Why do you ask?? Are you conducting a servey, or are you considering going TT?

The questions you are asking are very relitive, it all depends on what kit, built or non-built motor, who tuned it and how, etc........

Let me know if you need any spacifics........

As mentioned earlier its all about the Shop doing the work and how well the car is tuned. A car that is tunned conservatively and isnt running a rediculous about of boost for the specific engine ( stock, mild build, etc. ) should be fine for a long time. Remember your are increasing the output of the engine by a large percentage so some reliability and longevity will be lost, but its well worth it

Agreed. Now it's just too bad there are no VQ gurus is the Midwest, so I will have to drive my car or have it transported somewhere.

Genesis Racing Development http://www.grdperformance.com/ is less than 3 hours away from you in Naperville, IL. They are the premier VQ35 tuners in the midwest.

Thanks a lot Brian. I will have to check them out. Did they tune or install your kit? Any decisions on what you will do with your car yet?
