How much longer on those TT kits?
How much longer on those TT kits?
Lets discuss how much longer to wait on Greddy, Power Enterprises and Top Secret. Lets also discuss which one is better or worse and why so that we can all be ready to do a group buy when they come out. Also, explain to me which modifications you do now will be replaced by the TT kits when they come out. Thanks.
Re: How much longer on those TT kits?
ok well frist off any intake will need to be replaced. any after market exhuast or header should be alright. The Greedy kit will be the cheapest kit of all probaly around 5 grand dont expect to see one for the G untill april. The PE kit will be the mid priced one (8 grand for IM-Racing) this kit is very good and will provide able power and is very efishent. The PE kit contains a fuel manigment system that the Gready kit does not. This make the PE kit the better of the two. The Top Secret or TS if u will should be the most exspencive and the best kit as far as HP and quality. The TS kit from what i hear will be a single ball bearing turbo. It will most lickly have every thing the PE kit has and then some + better quality and more effisency. TS is considered to be the best tuner in japan so expect a very good product from them but expect to pay top dollar for it. Remember there heards alone will set u back about 2 grand. The exhast is also about 2 grand so there turbo will probaly be a lot. The thing about TS is like there name implies they are top secret we wont know much about the kit untill it is released. I think the PE kit will be my choose once they make a mod so it will fit for the G. I am hoping that the TS kit will fit the G. i think it will because TS seems to be working more with the G vs the 350z while the other companys have been working with the 350Z then retro fitting the system for the Gs. DOnt for get about the Procharger that is also a very good F/I.
Re: How much longer on those TT kits?
How much longer should we have to wait? Sounds like Top Seceret should be the best quality of them all, right? I am not really familiar with those reputable Japanese tuners, so according to Carlos, Top Secret should be the best of the bunch. So may be I should hold off upgrading the 350z mod and CAI if I am going the turbo route. By the way, will Top Secret make a bodykit for sedan? Your comments are appreciated.

Also I heard some of the members talking about Top Secret turbo will not be avaiable to US Gs because they will not pass the smoke check. Is it true? By the way, will Top Secret make a bodykit for sedan? Your comments are appreciated.

I've never tried putting an aftermarket turbo in a NA car, but I was under the impression that turbos can't have headers. Exhausts are fine, but that's one of the first things you usually want to change after adding a turbo.

Re: How much longer on those TT kits?
You will most likely be replacing either any header or possibly the stock Cast manifolds. It wil depend on the exact nuances of the kit, but many, many aftermarket kits replace the stock exhaust manifolds to mount a turbo(s) in a location to work with the car and the kits designed configuration. Seeing the low rear mounting of the one custom kits turbos says that kit might have used the cast manifolds with short pipes going to the turbos, in that case manifold replacement may not be necessary.

Re: How much longer on those TT kits?
Headers are replaced in the PE kit...2 custom exhaust manifolds are included...I don't know where people are getting their info, but GReddy is going to release the kit at around $7500...As far as the Top Secret kit, no assumptions should be made as to quality until, and IF, the TS kit is released...PE is also very reputable...While they haven't bee around as long and haven't built or sponsored as many rides as TS they're extremely high quality...Also, TS outfitted a VQ35DE with a TT system and swapped it into a GT-R, so the possibility of a twin rather than a single turbo set-up is feasible...SGP Racing and IM Racing think the kit will be single turbo, however other, better informed sources aren't so sure...At any rate, PE becomes available pretty much this next week, and the GReddy and TS kits have no ETA...GReddy has been promising a release for months with no results...Disappointing...

Can someone explain what the plenum does besides helping the engine breathe (a little more technical, but only a little)? Will it have to be replaced, well, taken back off when the turbo kits are added?
