Finally, HKS Rotrex S/C Instation Scheduled.

My local HKS pro-dealer, NE Autodesign, stood me up for an apointment, WTF? Showed up for my scheduled 10 am apointment & no one in the office?

I practically had to beg my Infiniti dealer for installation, They finallty agreed to do it & have my apointment set up.

Since I already have meters up & running, The install will be:

1, Complete HKS Rotrex S/C Kit. Test Pigg back ECU first, if not
compatiable with G35X, stop the project & limit my loss to 1hr labor.
I will have to either sell the S/C or get another ECU that works with G35x.

2, 10hr labor estimation but will charge at per hr rate regardless how long it takes.

3, Install 1 step colder plug, Itanium, or whatever it's called.

4, Install Transmission cooler & complete re-flash of transmission fluid.

They told me that by Law they could not void my warentee, They will
keep my warentee for engine & transmission unless they could prove that damages to be caused by S/C. (The service manager won't put it down in writing, as he said thee's no need, it's the law).

This is my daily driver, I hope nothing will go wrong, Pray! Pray! Pray!

As a side note, I have a G-timer, calibrated at track, which is 0.1" faster than
my slips. As the temprature gets colder, I've being getting faster & faster times. This morning, I run 14.3 1/4 mile on the G-timer, = 14.4 at track. This is a cold morning of 30 degrees. My best time at track was 14.8, 80 degrees.
I hope the S/C will get the 1/4 mile time down to low 13s.

/\ +1 Funny how they will completely forget everything... plus that person might be gone by the time you need service. I'm not sure what EMS that comes with that SC but I can say that 99% of dealers don't know how to tune yet alone how to fix our car. If the EMS is lock just like Stillen then I would trust them other than that good luck. Just a heads up, what if the install went wrong and car is not properly tune and it blow... will they cover that?

The mechanic John is really good, He installed my Wideband AFR & transmission
T. Sensor. The EMS for HKS S/C is locked, no tune can be done. There are a few things one can alter to affect the AFR, for example, If runnig Rich, Add a Plenum spacer, if too Lean, get bigger injector.

i dont think its up to the mechanic to honor warranty...get it in writing man..its not worth the risk..some service managers can be dicks with this kind of stuff...i guarantee you that if it comes to losing his job or denying the claim of honoring warranty..he'll deny that he told you that they would cover it...

The dealership has nothing to do with warranty, your warranty is with Nissan!
Dealerships cannot add or subtract from or modify warranty.

They can however refuse to do business with anyone and suggest you go somewhere else., if you desire a facility to work on your vehicle warranty or not.

Dealership service departments are just repair shops with a contract for reimbursement with Nissan...........part of their franchise agreement to sell new cars.
