Wha do you guys think? Do you think this engine or its "revision" will bring about more power for the New G's and Z's that come with it when adding in FI. Also while I am making a thread, how do the 5spd autos hold up to FI say from like a supercharger.

It seems the new HR won't take to FI as well. The more you max out the engine for NA via compression ratio, the less potential there is for FI.

one of my friends who is a wrench at Infiniti kust got back from a training seminar on the HR engine. He said something like 80% of the engine is new.......better cooling in the block too!!!

put some low comp. ratio pistons and good rods and she might be a good motor!!!

With the twin intakes, I'm thinking any sort of FI will be a plumbing nightmare. Twin superchargers? Twin intercoolers?

Maybe just a little extra piping for the second intake throttle body but a interconnected and balanced intercooler piping system and turbo flows. Something like the two turbo outlets into the middle of the intercooler and the outside intercooler outlets to the dual intakes. I'm sure the design engineers will figure something out when they get a 2007 prototype to measure and test fit. It will just take some time.

the compression ratio is higher so using higher octane gas will become even more important, but the engine will be much much more capable of holding boost

however IMO we'll see how long it takes companies to decide to spend the R&D money to make a FI kit for the new engine. In the case of the G35 it might come sooner than later unlike the Z which is scheduled for a complete redesign in the next couple years

With lower compression it will rock like nothing else!

I don't imagine it being a big problem.

You will need engine management anyways. Just wire the MAF inputs in parallel and have the engine management feed into that.

It shouldn't be too bad.

10.6 from 10.3 is not too much of a rise in compression. Stock boost will have to be lowered, but I don't think power will suffer.

Thanks Senty65 thats what I was talking about. It appears at least to them that the block is now made for boosting and this excites me to no end. I would love a blown rocket sedan, AMGs are my dream by Infinitis are my reality for right now.

This is gonna take some work to design an efficient Turbo or supercharger system...

kinda like the 300zx's w/ the twin intake, and those cars are a pain to work on/build with the lack of room
