Question Which exhaust combo to go with.

Well the time has come to upgrade my exhaust system so that I can complete this project, the only thing is do I go conservative or go all out. The options I have on the table are;

APS 3.5" test pipes and a custom 3" exhaust from Z car garage as the 3" APS true dual exhaust is very loud or,

Keep my 2.5" stock downpipes and my Crawford HF cats and go with the APS 2.5" true dual exhaust.

The only thing I am concerned about is the visual inspection if I ever got stopped for the exhaust......please don't remind me of the TT setup, I know about that issue already

Any input would be great as I am purchasing whatever the majority sides with in the next few days.

i get paranoid sometimes with having a too loud car...cuz it might bring attention to me...i especially hate taking my car out during the later days of the month since cops got to get quota...but for me id go with the first option... but the second i guess would make the cops not think to much of it from seeing it from the rear...i dunno thats my little 2 cents

I'm seriously considering the Greddy EVO TT. George/GTM was running it on his 500whp+ stock block with 2.5 test pipes and now APS 3.5s and loves it. He said it's mellower than the APS 3" while still getting maximum flow. Wth the 3.5" T.P., he expanded the exhaust pipe to 3" and welded on 2 new 3" flanges. It's now 3" to 2.74" all the way through.

I was advised yesterday to keep the stock downpipes and HF cats and get the Greddy EVO TT also. I suppose as long as I can hit 500rwhp I am happy with this suggestion. Going to have to find a good price on the system.....any ideas where to look

Are you running the Unichip or something else? It will be very touch to get 500whp or over with stock downpipes and HF cats on the Unichip.

Rick I did look into your exhaust but it did not mention the diameter of the piping whereas I knew that the APS is 2.5 and I now know that the Greddy is 2.7 or thereabouts.
Also the price of an APS is lower than the Fast Intensions exhaust which I have to take into consideration. The EVO TT I have not looked into pricing yet but Rob told me it is about $100 more than the APS shipped.

Rick PM me if we can work out a deal, I will order today if we do

OH NO!!!

Remember, Turbo's cause exhaust restriction. The more flow, the more power and boost for Turbo's.

For your HFC's though, you will want to move towards Metallics. You will melt the brick after tuning with a Turbo setup...and most FI and Nitrous.

Also - just because 'you can' get 500WHP from that setup, doesn't mean it's right...

The engine with the Unichip but running test pipes put down over 600rwhp, I think it was around 640 but that is why I detuned it and wanted to get the best on A) pump gas and B) Window of safety.

I am hitting 450 with a not so good exhaust and no APS plenum so with the combo going on together I am hoping to get close to that number, if not attainable then I will just ditch the cats and go straight to test pipes but we shall see...one small step at a time.

I understand completely but one of my concerns was living in Cali and the issues we have here but I am all for going the "RIGHT" way

600WHP?? On the Unichip?? What fuel system?? Man, I don't get it, I'm being told you can't get over 500whp on the Unichip safely from GRD, Forged Internals and MRC.

You can easily get the EVO TT exhaust for around $1250 shipped.
