It's not from Vortech, but here is a Motor Trend article with a Stillen SC 2003 coupe indicating 0-60 time of 5.5 compared to 6.3 stock.

Speed magazine did a 350Z FI shootout back in 2005. The Vortech equipped Z was running Toyo Proxes RA1 275/35/18 rear tires (smaller than stock diameter by almost 1") so it had to shift to 3rd in the 0-60 test due to its 6560 rpm redline.
It did a 4.9 second 0-60. It probably would've been 0.2-0.3 seconds faster with a properly sized tires letting it hit 60 in second.

The stillen car adds 70 hp they claim (I presume they mean at the crank) - that's say 55 at the wheels - must be stage I. 285 whp? A low to mid 5 sec time sounds reasonable for that.
With most bolt-ons you can get to that NA. I've had a Gtech-RR since my G35 was stock. My 0-60 times ranged from 6.2-6.6 secs. My 1/4 mile times were low to mid 14s. After K&N, hfc cats, 2.5 FI true duel exhaust, 3/8" spacer, my times are consistently 5.2-5.5 secs 0-60 and 13.6-14 in the 1/4 mile. That's with no weight reduction other than running with 1/4-1/2 tank of gas.
I've seen video clips of Stillen SC on G and Z cars running 12s. So clearly you can up the power. I think low 4s with a Stillen stage 4 and 3.9 final drive is spot on.
The problem with Vortech is the power is up in the high rpm band. Which means first gear launch is slow (relatively). That'll kill the 0-60 time even if the 1/4 mile is competitive.

you must have an auto. With a six speed and rpm based boost you can launch the car at high enough rpm to get a good launch. However, I see low torque down low as a form of traction control. With the stock Vortech pulley and tune setup, you are making stock torque and horsepower (230 rwhp/220 ft/lb) as low as 4k rpm. My best 60' while N/A was 2.0.
On one chilly night, I smoked a M3 six speed to top of second gear, so 0 to 60 of 4.9 sounds about right even though 0 to 60 is only half the story

There will always be a huge gap on 1/4 mile times from track to track . A 13.2 at 108 might be a 12.6 at 112 at a diff. track . Just like Dyno's , my 430whp might be 490wp on a different dyno . And someone elses 470wp might be 390whp on my dyno . So why even bother .
And to add...Unless your all on the same tires and at the same track at the same time . Comparing doesnt work

That's a really generalized and vague statement. Sounds like your frustrated phil. One can sink $10k into a g or z and if done correctly will be in the 10's.
One need not spend "so much $". I went from 7.1 0-60 to 5.0 0-60 and from a 15.5 1/4 to a 14.0 naturally aspirated and on the stock block. Big change for my 2003 FX35. I've really enjoyed the process of researching, learning and executing and would say my FX is also more reliable than before I started. If all one wants is a cheap form of speed, yeah, american v8 for sure.
