Congrats! Looks good. I had my hood painted. Just thought it would look better and help the hump blend in. When it's cold, the kit will squeal a little, but it shouldn't be that loud. Check your belt tensions and pulleys. Usually tends to squeal when something needs to be tightened. Do you have the 6 rib belts?

I bet that thing is loud w/ the Injen!

Edit: I've been running 5w-40 in my stage 2. Some have been running 5w-30w/ no problems. You may also want to get an oil analysis at some point.

The weights listed on motor oils represent the weight (viscosity) at both temp extremes. Multi weight oil operates by having a certain viscosity at cold (start up) and a different viscosity at normal operating temps. A 5w-40 motor oil would have the weight of a 5 weight oil during in cold temps and a 40 weight at normal engine operating temps. To increase the viscosity out to 30 or 40 weight, viscosity improvers are added increase the viscosity. Regarding the weight, the higher the number, the higher the viscosity of the oil, or the thicker it is. For FI applications w/ higher heat, thicker oil can improve the protection of your engine internals. You may also want to look into a true synthetic, since true synthetics have less viscosity improvers, which tend to break down in high heat.

1) The belts are not tight enough. I never had any noise problems. See if you can figure out which belt is making the noise and tighten it up. Since you used new belts they stretch out a little after the first couple drives and need tightened.

2) I would use 10w40 or even 15w50 in the warmer times of the year and 5w30 in the winter/cold times.

3) Your engine will burn more oil with this kit and getting a spacer is a very good idea. It was one of the first mods I did when I got my car. Pros: Your oil will stay cooler and cleaner plus you have an extra qt in case you burn some. Cons: It takes an extra qt at every change.

it has to be the main belt, can't be the top one as it is pretty tight allready, as well as the center belt off of the double pulley
I will check it on Mon. in class when I can get it on a lift

I've had the stage 2 kit for almost 2 months now, and I can't say I've burned any oil. When I first got the kit, I check the oil and found that it was midway between the high and low marks on the dip stick. I proceeded to add some oil, and thought I added too much oil, so I went and had it changed. Since then, the car's oil level has remained steady since that change. Can't say it's ever burned any oil though.

The benefits of a good synthetic 5w-40 is that it's thicker, which helps protect under higher load. Also may provide better oil pressure than a lighter oil. I've been running the 5w-40 since I got the kit, and I don't have any complaints. I am going to get an oil analysis here soon. I'll let you guys know what comes out of it. Unfortunately, I don't have a baseline oil analysis.

Edit: Yeah, the top belt looks a little too tight from the pics. Can't be that one.

I would be interested in seeing the results of the oil analysis

now I have 10w30 castol syntech

I did looses that top one a very little amount, I just took a couple of more pics in the garage at work today so I will post those up tonight

Is your s/c coolant reservoir bottle stainless steel? Mine is black plastic. Wonder why the difference.

Hmm wonder why. When did you buy that kit? I got mine about a year ago.

OK I tightened the main belt and I think I got it I will know for sure tomorow when I go to start her up in the morning wether i truley did or not

I don't know wether or not the injen CAI is overly loud on this kit cause I have not point of reference but it sounds pretty damn good to me

I think I might loosen the top belt more since it looks like everyone is telling me it is too tight

I believe the Injen is the loudest it could be. I had a CF Z-tube and Stillen intake which were quite loud too. I miss that sound
