vortech dyno 477.8 whp 383 tq

some have seen these charts already on other forums, but just posting them here for anyone who doesn't look at other forums

I had an Fcon V-pro installed at GT Motorsports and they also fixed my fuel pressure issue. I highly recommend them. I think they're among the best shops in the country for the G and Z

I reached 10.9-11psi of boost on my vortech during tuning
see my signature for mod details.

Yes I'm on the stock bottom end

The 91 octane map came out with 455.2 whp and 370.6 tq (1st graph)
The 96 octane map came out with 477.8 whp and 383 tq (2nd graph)
GTM uses a dynojet

Damn, nice numbers...It's about time. The Fcon was a great choice. How long does the water injection last before you have to fill it up again?

thanks,

how often you go through the water/meth depends on how much you go WOT, but I'd say once a month or so it'd run out

On the dyno when it was first installed at Dynocomp, we wanted to make sure it was spraying so we had it spray into a plastic water cup. It sprayed about an inch worth of water - so if you had say a coke can, it would be maybe 3/4 of an inch tall.

I'm using the stock water container for windshield wiper fluid which holds a full gallon - on the Z anyway, I think the G's canister is a little smaller. It'd take awhile. When it runs low, the dash light will light up and I also have an LED that the kit came with that lights up when running low on water.

Methanol is really really cheap. I forget what it costs - something like $15 for 5 gallons

thanks,
GTM is currently doing it for $3k with the basic sensors, install, and tuning.

The Fcon has 4x as much resolution detail as the stock ECU (32x32 vs 16x16 load points) and is something like twice as fast as the stock ECU. Because it's driving the engine directly, there's absolutely no delay between a signal going from the ECU to a piggyback, then to the engine

I had several additional things put on which brought the cost up
knock amp and sensor
EGT compensation
air intake sensor
navigator monitor

it ended up being quite a bit more than $3k. The knock amp alone is like $930 just for the part

but nothing will touch the Fcon other than something like a Motec EMS which is even more expensive and not really street-friendly since passing emissions will be a trick without the stock ECU present at all

I think HKS and UTEC just want their own dedicated sensor.

Sam told me that the Fcon reacts dramatically faster to knock with pulling timing etc than the stock ECU can. It has a faster processor and probably more sensitivity

I'd assume the UTEC wants it's own sensor since it gets its information after the ECU has already read it and made adjustments to timing. If the UTEC operates off of a "target A/F and timing" type of adjustment based on the offset timing and A/F coming from the ECU. So if the ECU detected knock and pulled timing, I bet if the UTEC didn't have it's own knock amp sensor, it would try to add the timing back in to reach the designated preset target? Just guessing

thanks BrianlG35C
