What is happening at SGP Racing?

Hello all,

I heard that SGP racing has undergone some change. I had my tune done by them (see sig) and was planning an engine build and turbo application.

However, Shaun was exceptionally rude to me and my car (brand new and just off the dealership lot) sat outside in the Texas sun for nearly two weeks just to get a tune and engine management installed. I also received several tickets because someone drove it through the Tollbooth w/out paying toll.

I got the opportunity to purchase a 600 whp Porsche GT2 (here is a pic and some info about my incredible car:http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=81700)

Hence never finished the G35 which is my DD.

However, I would like a little more punch in the car so I am interested in installing a turbo w/ a modest 400whp. The customer service problems notwithstanding, Mark Gust is an excellent tuner (arguably the best in the world) once he gets to your car. My question is what is going on there now? I am very active in the car scene here in Houston and I have heard that Shaun is gone, but that there are many teenagers running around the facility now. If I send my car there will it get Marks attention or will kids be playing with it?

Not sure. I dealt with them back in December and was very happy.

This thread had me a little on-guard when I had to call them this morning with an install question for a clutch and line that I bought from them a year ago. I spoke with Randall on the phone and he was nice and gave me some possible direction to take to solve my problem.

Not much to offer, I know, but I always like to put it out there when I've had good experience with a place. Others' experiences may vary.

Is Randall Shauns replacement? If he is professional and he and Mark are the only ones touching my car then I will probably have them install a Greddy kit on my car.

Dr_jitsu what kind kit are u going with, it seems like we the same exact cars

This kinda scares me, because I am wanting to send my car there (from Oklahoma city) and get JWT TT kit and they told me it would only take a week or two... I guess I have to talk to them again and make sure they can do it in that time frame before I send my car there.

Mark is a wizard w/ the V-Pro and the V-Pro is the best engine management for our cars. I am very active in the car scene here in houston and heard that there were some changes at SGP and that very young techs where doing some of the work. The problem is that SGP has tons of work and possibly not enough qualified employees.

Mark prefers the Greddy kit. I just wish it had the garret bb turbos.

Ohh I see, I hope they can take car of the problem, because I really don't want to spend all that money and have a young kid with not enough experince to do the work. I understand the pricing as long as there are people with experince doing the work and if "SOME" new guy is going to work on the car then I don't see the reason to pay the extera $$$. I agree on the tune do, I heard a lot of good things about his tuning skillz. I guess what I can do is do the most of the work myself and just take it to him for the Tune and V-Pro.

Huh...the guys goes all out on a longblock build just for a supercharger?

I was originally toying w/ an SGP longblock and Greddy TT kit w/ a goal of 550. Since it will never be the car that my GT2 is, I was just going to geta Greddy TT on my stock engine. W/ theV-pro it should be safe as a 400 whp dd.

WOW!!!Look what was just posted at my350z.com: http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268929

I guess that settles it.
