Greddy TT Install 5AT [Finally]

After years of drooling over Boost, The next time I drive my car it will have a twin turbo kit in it!

Just dropped off my car at the local shop here (Apex automotive... if you need work done in the wellington/westpalm area in florida, great prices and very hard working guys... a family business and very knowledgeable)

Anywho, Got the Tial BOV and the intercooler all that, strappin it on to my AT-- Probably going to run 380 or so to the rear wheels for now, Till I get a VB upgrade, then I'll probably do 400-420.

I'll post pictures here as I stop by and check up on progress.

-- How much power are you making on stock internals, 5AT? and for how long?

Someone gave me a PM, wrote this out thought I should post it for everyone to see.
--------------------------------

1000$ Intercooler
3000$ Greddy Kit (great deal)
250$ BOV
~600$Guages with boost controller and pod
2500$ Install, Tune, New steel lines, oil change.
--------------------------------------------------
$7350

-- I skipped on the Gagues for now, But I will order them very soon. I just ran out of money and didn't realize it (Or credit rather)

Other things You'll need in order of importance.

1500$ Valve Body Upgrade
1300$ 2.5/3.0 Inch Exhaust with test pipes or HFC (HFC add 300$)
1000$ Unichip or Utec depending on what your tuner likes best [Generally Utec is the king for our cars]
---------------------------------------------------
3700-4000$

After that, If you want more than 400rwhp you need to start looking into building your engine up, with rods, springs, cams, shims, crank, heads (low compression) and main/support struts. (I think thats everything)

But an engine build is a whooollee nother huge expense. (5-7,000) depending on what you use.
---------------------------------------------------

I wish I was mature enough to this right and build my motor and tranny first but I've wanted boost so bad, and I finally got my parents to agree to let me waste all my money on it lol.

I'll be sure to post in that thread all the pictures, details, videos and dyno's when I get it back on friday/thisweekend.

Sounds like you picked a great shop to go to, good for you! Can't wait to see the outcome, and post some vids!! Just be smart about it til you're ready to go further with your funds and push the limits.

You will def. need to get the VB upgrade and TC also, I noticed that once I got to a certain power band it would not shift. You will also need to get an oil cooler and tranny cooler.

Not sure who sent you this, but there's some incorrect information...

Unless that Greddy kit is used, there is no way you'll find one for 3k (If you do, I'll take mine off, sell it and STILL make a profit, lol). The going rate of Greddy TT + FMIC is ~$5700.

Valve body is around 900 from Sharif (best around), not 1500.

Everything else is accurate for the most part.

Good luck!!

I was figuring with install, I'm not sure what it would cost so I Guessed.

But someone asked me what I spent on MY greddy kit-- and thats exactly what I did spend.

So you're telling me you got a NEW Greddy kit for 3k? That's like 2k below cost lol. Or was it used?

A new valve body is basically your old one upgraded so the 900 is parts and labor. The only additional expense would be taking it out and shipping it and putting it back in.

On a side note, I would recomment the Greddy EvoTT exhaust. It's around 1250 and one of if not THE best exhaust for a TT. 2.75 inch piping and quiet compared to AAM. The only thing to consider is the bottleneck in the exhaust. The part that bolts on to the cats is smaller piping so it fits, but if you get test pipes or HFC's, you're good

$1,000 for the IC is also very cheap.

The going rate from most vendors is closer to $1400 with shipping.

I remember a guy a couple months back selling a Greddy fmic for like 900 or something because he had an extra one or went with a diff kit or something like that...maybe he bought that one. But, 3k for a Greddy TT is crazy

Yeah, he was local to me. That is not a normal price at all.

He didn't have the IC and was selling just a Greddy kit so I looked around for an IC for a few days and could not find one for under $1300 anywhere including ebay. I ended up getting a complete kit from SGP and then he got the IC back and sold it on here.
