DSport 508rwhp Vortech VQ

Has anyone picked up and/or read the latest D Sport magazine? It has a wide-body 350Z w/ the PE TT (stock compression) and an 04 G35 coupe putting down around 500rwhp w/ a T-Trim Vortech (9.0 compression, IIRC). I skimmed the G35 article, and it looks like it was tuned by GT Motorsports. Pretty sweet!

that particular setup that they were trying to shoot for was considered unsuccessful and not reliable at high reves with high boost so Dsport gave up and went with a JWT TT kit.

It would have been great if it worked, but it would snap belts every time they went for 7500+ rpms and if they kept it to 7000 rpms or less, it'd still manage to snap the belt after whatever many pulls even at 6000 rpms. And these were extreme kevlar belts with steel reinforcement

here's one of its last dynos (the blue/gray graph) but it stops at 6000 rpms
It reached 508-513 whp by reving to 7500 rpms

Very nice! I love the vortech setup all togather. Seems to be the best of any turbo or SC set up.

I have the cog set up . And so far NO PROBLEMS going to redline . The blower lost its seals and is on its way back . Im reducing the boost it made to put less stress on the belts so thy dont snap or wear out so easy . There is no need for 26psi of boost . As I feel that most of it is lost to parasitic loss and the fact the motor is to small for that much air flow the blower puts outs out at that level . Im not giving any more info on the project as it should be done when the blower gets put on and it gets street tuned and then put on the Dyno.....I'll try to do both Mustang Dyno and DYnoJet dyno.....NOT JUST A DYNOJET DYNO ....to put out a big numbers .
Sentry would be better off not repeating second hand info , if he has no idea what the fck he is talking about . Im sure he will make his normal 1 foot long reply to this .

The amount of stress put on the belts at 26psi and rpms past 7000rpms is the reason why the belts kept snapping . Reduce the boost and the rpms and the system will work fine .

Not a shock there. The Vortech is a great kit for what it is but when you want to go for big, big numbers there are much better options out there.

Sentry ......you're showing one dyno graph that Sam posted to try to make your setup shine better . He didnt post a graph showing anything past 6000rpm . Dont sit there and say the car only made 20 or so more whp from 6000rpm's to 7500rpm's .

Although 500rwhp is a lot, and impressive from a s/c, personally i'm just going for 450rwhp, which would be more usable for me. I'm leaning to a turbo, but California Carb ***** keep me from 100% committing to that kit. Although, I may use my parents house in Vegas as the legal registration address for my car, hehehe.....

Sentry's last dyno was on a DynoJet so if he put it back on his original dyno , it would come out [ on his 455whp tune ] real close or maybe less than the 430whp he claimed here and the 420whp he claimed at my350Z....probably around 410whp .ANd his 477 tune would be around 430whp
The problem with trying to make over 500whp with a blower and this motor . I feel it is mostly parisitic loss . Meaning - its taking to much HP away trying to turn the blower which is getting harder and harder to turn as psi rises . And the motor just isnt big enough to pump enough air to over come the HP loss turning the blower.

Booger, don't come in to this thread with trash carried over from Sentry's thread on my350z. Stay on topic.

Well maybe if he wouldnt have trashed two of my threads to begin with . Posting over and over ond over , even when I asked him to stop .

But anyway . Hope to get the blower back today and installed . Then I'll see what the Cog set up that I bought from the DSport project is going to work . And Sentry's trashing of the system will be proven wrong . I didnt buy it to make 26psi , nor to make 500whp . It was purchased to relieve the pressure put on the other pulleys [ Atl. and PS ] and to be able to build boost to redline and not have the belt slip once I hit 13psi . This will be done with changing out pulleys to reduce the boost .

Dang Booger.... you are in every other post on this thread and you mention Sentry constantly.... Chill on that whole thing and give it a rest.

As for his pre-Fcon dyno's he was hitting 420-430 on a Dyno Dynamics.

I also dyno at DynoComp and saw his plot in the computer. Chill, there is more than one way to skin a cat.
