cost of building a motor?
jwt tt 700bb and everything else that goes with 500 whp on an auto (well not *everything* - i'm looking for bbk too - next year!)
see my edit above, it's the tranny issue that's gonna take some time; just shipping each way takes a full week or more. i just timed pick up and delivery for when I'd be passing through Atlanta on business trips - saved me airfare that way. Sharif can work very quickly if you have a need - just didn't have the need - except I'm really missing my car!!!

Nice!! You are going with the big turbos? Wow, you are really gonna have to build up that auto tranny. Good luck with that. I can't wait to see how it comes out.
And we are nuts...lol, welcome to the club as someone called me at work today "Car Nerd" haha.
My driver is coming to pick mine up in 1 hour to take her down to LA to Sam, I hope everything turns out fine.

rdcash-Sharif and Sam are like an all-star team of tuners/builders. You are in great hands bro. My G is at GTM right now. Sam will be working his magic on my car too.
... and thanks to you Urban, I think. you gave me the lead on Sam's upcoming 5AT developments. will let you know how it turns out...
hard waiting around without the car, isn't it...

Personally, I plan on waiting to pick up a used 07 in a few years after it depreciates $8-10K or so, then slap on a TT. The HR should be able to safely take 12-14 PSI stock. Saves me the $$$$ and asspain to build a motor. No way out of the AT build though as a 6MT isn't what I would want at 500+HP.
No way to be sure until it's tried on the HR - but it'd be nice. i just decided selling and buying would give me a bigger hit than just doing it now with proven parts. i am taking a gamble with the 5AT but I figured now that all the rebuild parts are out, it's now or never.
i don't think sam or sharif visit g35driver too much, but if you guys read this - I'm dying here with no pics guys.
To the OP and to actually keep this somewhat on topic, I will say Sharif is very clear and up front on what the costs are to reach a customer's stated goals. You don't realize the true cost till you start planning with your installer/builder so that's the best path to take to get the true price of the cost of a FI build. You can check around for prices on the web for parts and then work out "details" with your chosen shop before you spend a cent - and take the time to plan for the costs to do it right the first time. I first spoke to Sharif I think a year before actually deciding to go with him for this project and consulted him on purchases (exhaust) even though I was using different vendors at that time. Sharif earned my business by providing tons of information up front. To the OP, look for the sponsors on this site and my350z that offer the services, products you are looking for and talk to a few of them - then decide, plan, etc. There are a lot of good shops on these boards.
