see my edit above, it's the tranny issue that's gonna take some time; just shipping each way takes a full week or more. i just timed pick up and delivery for when I'd be passing through Atlanta on business trips - saved me airfare that way. Sharif can work very quickly if you have a need - just didn't have the need - except I'm really missing my car!!!
If you still need an upgraded torque converter, let me know... we installed one on Chuck's car and it works great! He loves it.

Definitely research this and make a decision based on your own findings. Regardless, you are easily looking at over $15k for a built motor and FI. Probably closer to $20k actually once you throw in all of the other misc. things that you will need. Good luck.
I agree... Sharif at Forged Performance is doing my G for me....Motor,JWT 700bb TT, HKS Electronics. If you want to do it the right way in the 550 to 600 wrhp range...you going to shell out over 25K. I spoke to SGP and VRT....and I was told 15k to 18k....but the shopping list was missing alot of important electronic items. Sharif spent the hour or so on the phone with me telling me what was missing and why I would need it. To prevent alot of down time, order your built motor before sending your ride.....good luck.

It's coming from Fairfield and it costs around 350, last time I drove to LA it cost about 150 in gas and 119 to fly back on southwest and then another 65 on the airporter as my wife refused to help me out and pick me up from Sacremento due to my bad habit..lol. This way is cheaper and I do not have to be on the road all day.

Plus if your having an engine build then GTM pay for it

Depends on a few things, I was just going to have a few things that I mentioned earlier I think, new sprockets for timing chain, larger injectors and a few other things and then a tune at a few extra psi. but a few days ago I started getting a ticking sound which I am not sure where it is coming from, I think I broke something in the timing chain area so if so then the plan stays the same and I should have it back by next week but if Sam says something else is up and I need a new build which I hope not then it may be there for a month.

do you have upgraded valve springs and cams? could be stock valve?

hope it's nothing and you're back on the road soon.

Hey 98, thanks for the info. What do you do for upgrade? I don't know that I want to change the stall speed... Do you have core swaps or do you modify the original?

Thanks I have upgraded valve springs and cams but this noise does not seem to be making the engine itself run poorly, it actually runs just normal but I have the old sprockets in the car and there is a TSB out to change them, Sam told me this last time I was at the shop and I was planning on going down to fix this, this just happened a day before I was planning on taking it down so hopefully it is a simple fix.
I can not imagine being without the car for a month, it would cripple me...lol

Found this (can you tell me the sprocket TSB #):

ITB06012

IF YOU CONFIRM There is a ticking, clicking, thumping, or knocking noise heard in the passenger compartment at idle. The noise could be from the engine compartment. ACTION With the engine idling, feel the fuel damper hose while the noise is occurring. The fuel damper hose is located on the Bank 1 side of the engine. If the vibration of the fuel damper hose coincides with the noise heard inside the vehicle, replace the fuel damper and attached hose on that cylinder bank (Bank 1). See thisbulletin for further detail.

Page 3 post #56 from Sam about the sprocket TSB, this is the thread where GTM is telling everyone of their shortblock and head prices and package deals.
