MREV2 gains with FI

I'm in the market for the MREV2 for my 05 coupe. However, FI is down the road...will the MREV2 cause any problems? Will I gain even more HP with it or will in not matter??

I have the Mrev+ but forgot to do a before dyno so didn't see if it had a gain. If you're doing FI in the next 6month then don't bother but if you are not sure when then the added hp/tq will give you a little enjoyment while NA.

Thats what I was thinking...I'll do the exhaust upgrade first then. That should add to FI gains right? Proll'y not much...anyone with the numbers to compare?

This issue was discussed on my350z and most agreed that it basically made no difference. Someone actually dynoed their car before and after and showed that basically there was no benefit to it. Do a search on my350z.

I have the MREV2, 4/16" spacer on on '05 revup sedan.

NA....I felt a nice gain.

I used the same combo ob my car when I had a TN ST kit.....

Now, I have a Greddy TT, and have gone back to the revup lower but am still using the 5/16" spacer.

I don't know what's the best way to go.

If you have it and decide to go FI, it won't hurt you in any way but it is just not as effective for an FI setup as it is when you are NA.

Ok, only thing I did to my car before FI was Mrev+ coz that is the only NA mod that you can really feel a difference. I didn't buy any exhaust coz I I'm not sure if I'm going with ST or TT. I didn't buy any headers coz not sure if i'm going with SC or TT. Didn't buy any intake coz it will be worthless on FI. If you are buying an exhaust you have to see which one work with which kit. APS has it own exhaust that work well with the kit so it is really about planning.

My advice to you is that if you are really going FI (not just Dreaming About it) then think first a head of time what you will be getting. Then you can buy parts that can be re-used with that setup. Think a head so you don't buy useless parts.
You

Thanks guys! I think a CAT-Back exhaust system will be ok with any FI (except STS, which I wont use). I know the Stillen Roots type doesn't like headers, but I would think that their CAT-Back would be ok...and If their exhaust is ok, then so should others. Actually, I'm looking at the Stillen system..but HKS is nice too.

Right now, I'd classify myself as "actively researching FI"...2 steps above dreaming

Not so fast with the Exhaust. If you're going with a ST then your True Dual Exhaust will need some fabrication to make it fit (reverse Y pipe). If you're going with APS then I highly advise use their exhaust especially for their ST kit. If you are going for full build then Greddy exhaust will be your route... it's all about planning my friend.

Unless using an EMS that can tune A/F per cylinder, it's in your best interest to even out the air flow to all cylinders. It's well known that the rear cylinders run leaner than the front due to the shape of the manifold when running NA. It's not clear to me if the inequity in airflow still exists under boost. I would think so, but to a lesser extent. In any case, I think there might still be benefit to the spacer or MREV2 just to get more even air distribution across cylinders.
