planning on FI.. just trying to fig how much to save

at the moment, i plan on getting:

JWT PopCharger
HFC or res test pipes
HKS Hi-Power Exhausts
MD 1/2" Isothermal spacer
new 19s

for a vortech, what else should i expect to buy to maintain it?

im really just looking for a broad range in price, incl avg labor.. ie. 4000-4500.. 5-6k.. etc

not planning on getting it quite soon, but trying to set my budget and save some every paycheck

I would get everything except the popcharger bc u wont be able to use them once u go vortech and that would save u the time and money of reselling it again.

As for price, u can pick up an used kit for about 3000+ shipping. The labor for a bolt on out of the box vortech should run about 1g with no gauges installed and then u if u want a tune, it will run another 500. So to recap, 4500 installed for an used basic vortech/tune setup with no gauges.

jeez -_-

i saw post on 4-5k and im like.. ok, thats workable..

10k+ ... might have to reconsider now.. lol.. i knew there would be quite a few supporting mods to maintain it, just not that much..

although, i think i can afford the 4500 first, and hope it doesnt break while i save up for another several months for another 5k lol

as for not getting the popcharger.. hah.. oops, i already bought that last night.. but its alright bc the vortech will be a while (if i do still get one), so this will tide me over for the time being so im not ALL stock .. plus got a friend who would buy it for a reasonable price when im done with it

If you are just getting the Vortech SC then 8K will give you most of the supporting mod (Not including Exhaust upgrade).

His post ask what is the cost after he gets his NA mods. So why would he have to spend +8K once he goes FI??? By then he should already have the exhaust, cats, spacers done.

most of the ppl that responded dont even have sc so they are really over estimating.

2K on NA parts sounds about right and then an additional 4500 for your basic used bolt on vortech/ tuned setup without any gauges. Add 500 more if u want gauges and install and 1g more if u want ALL new parts. GL

To do it right I'll go with this route.

vortech tuner kit for 3599, utec for 750, map sensor for 90, walbro for 90, and 3.12 pulley for 85 dollars, 650cc injectors 450 all shipped!!.

Support Mod.
Greddy 52mm turbo Guage-$170
Innovate motorsports wideband- $325
Greddy 52mm Pressure or Fuel guage -$175
Labor on guages about $240 installed..
Clutch/Flywheel = 900+450 Install

SC Tuner Kit + extra = $5065
SC Install+Tune = $1300
Support Mod = $910
Total W/O Clutch = $7275...

With Clutch/FW = 7275 + 1350 = $8625

Tax ???

He said supporting mods and I think these are good supporting mod that has the potential to grow and added safety.

It really depends on how much hp he wants and how much he wants to spend. Everyone has their definition of supporting mods and safety. U might as well scare him away from FI by adding 6K more for a built block to be on the safe side so he wont blow his motor.

I'm sure he doesnt want be saving up an arm and leg for yrs but gradually start off with the basic setup and then slowly upgrade as he gets use to the boost. He already stated he wanted to be in the range of 4-6K which is in the ball park around 360hp/300tq with your basic 3.33 pulley.
