Actually the aps site states In fact, with a built engine, how about 650 hp air flow capacity at just 16 psi of turbocharger boost pressure!

Maybe i should of made this in the F/I Section. IDK what Air Flow capacity means.. But Like i said i need to get educated more on this topic.

cooler and bigger piping will give you a smoother air flow. this is why the t3/t4 turbo is not going into my G.... I went a different route. to get the most out of your car you will need to do some port and building of the internals.... I.e.- a body builder needs to work on all areas....u see some meatheads that work all upper body but have scronny legs...not the way to do things

damn I think I will stick with a STS turbo at $5k installed and that would give you around 410-420 rwhp

If you want 500whp eventually, go TT.

There's plenty of corrupt shops in Socal that will smog a tuned car. Just look at half of the beaters on the roads here. I end up wondering how they ever passed smog. They look like they are spraying pesticide.

How come the supra guys all change out to ST's and are putting out 1000+HP? I guess they're just massive turbos and only spool at 5k?

Yes Pistons and rods will be installed b4 i thought aboult upping the boost.
But ST's are not all that bad.. I guess theirs just some crappy setups for the G. I remember this one shop had a ST G35 and they were putting out numbers around 750-800whp.. But who knows lag was probably Horrid. I do remember Ttrank stating that the rush of power is priceless compared to a S/C's even pull.

If you want big power on the VQ a TT is the best way. Some of the other guys (supra for one) go with one large turbo for big numbers but have you ever seen the power curve? It is all top end. With twins you get that immediate boost for tons of low end power and top end. A large ST can put out just as much air as a good set of twins but now you are talking about replacing the turbo ($$$) and more lag ( ). If you are going to build the motor and have it out just slap a set of twins on at the same time. I soooo wish I would have built my motor while it was out...

There are two I know of right now. One is a 350Z with the APS extreme TT kit and the other is a G coupe with the JWT 700BB TT kit. I have never seen anywhere close to those numbers with a ST kit on the VQ.

Yes you are right. The 2JZGTE supra motor is great with a ST but you have no power until high RPM's. I have driven a 900whp supra and would not trade it for my TT kit if the car was my daily driver. There is no power for most of the rpm band and it is like a rocket at the end. Not fun for every day driving.

Hmm I don't remember that. Not to say it's not true, I look at a lot of threads.

BTW I'm not trying to prove that ST are better or anything I'm just weighing my options. I will prob end up going TT.

I have another question is lag really all that bad.. We really don't need that much power down low do we? The Car is RWD and its not like we can really fit some nice wide tires on the back. I'm just saying when do you really drop into the lower RPMS when your on it. I would think lag would be easy to Avoid in a 6mt.

With twins there is virtually no lag. I am not experienced with other kits, but I do know with the JWT they spool up around 2k rpm so you get pretty much no turbo lag.Twins FTMFW

I know.
Just good to talk about what you want to see before you buy so you don't make the mistake some of us have made and end up changing it out. ST might be perfect for you!

IMO lag sucks so bad. I like having the power right there when I am on the freeway and in 5th or 6th gear to pass or whatever. Lag is not that bad in a racing situation because you always drop gears and go. I don't race my car that much and always want power on demand. I'm lazy...
