to those with oil pressure gauges

does the G have a unit to connect to the oil filter flange to mount a oil pressure guage (a la 350z)? if not, what type of hardware must i purchase in order to utilize one? does an oil pressure gauge also read out low oil readouts?

thanks in advance.

you can get a 3/8" hose fitting with a 1/8" NPT fitting to receive the oil pressure sensor. Or you could get a sandwich adapter that is used for oil coolers and use the in/out fittings on that to plug in pressure/temp senders. And no an oil pressure sender will not tell you the oil is low, unless its low enough for the pressure to actually drop (probably too late by then?).

thanks!

anything to monitor oil is a good thing for FI folks... i've already had a bearing failure and do not wish to fall into that again.

with that being said, with those fittings, where do i mount the sensor itself? i doubt it's safe to mount onto an oil line.

uhhh... the fittings allow you to mount it onto the oil lines. the only other option is to drill the oil pan or get an oil pan spacer that can accept a sensor.

you won't see any oil pressure in the pan. you could put an oil temp gauge in the pan or pan spacer, but not pressure.

This should make it easier to do the temp and pressure sensors, sits between the filter and the block. May not fit with some external oil cooler sandwich plates depending on the fitting you may hit the frame.
