NOS upgrade worth it?

I've been looking at the super charger and turbo kits, and theyre pretty borderline on my budget, so i was wondering if the nitrous kits would be worth it?

i really dont want something to show a ton of power like the turbo kits do 24/7, more like give a surprise when needed

if it is worth it, what kind of kit should i start looking at to be reliable and wont break my car?

nitrous will fry your engine. hi boost or not, youre not going to last with stock internals.. youre gonna fry your head, pistons, cams, and your wallet. i'm not a big fan of nitrous, nor am i interested with cars that has them.

so to input on whether or not to get nitrous, i would say no.

You would be suprized actually! A lot of guys on here have been running nitrous for a long time and had no problems at all! Some guys take it to the track and oump 150 shots 8 times a night without a problem, its also their daily driver and tracked atleast once a week.

Guess it depends if you do it right or not...

You can drive a Turbo everyday without hitting boost as long as you are easy on the gas. If you want a quick surprise then Nitrous is not the one coz you still need to open the bottle to spray unless it is open all the time. If it's open all the time then you need to purge it so that you'll have a fresh one before the actual race. Oh, you need to refill those sucker.

ok my wording and reasoning isnt completely stated

in short... i dont want to spend 7k+ on a full supercharger setup, or 15k+ on a TT

i dont mind buying whatever i need for the purge kit or other items to make it work.. most nos kits are well under 1k.. so even if i had to get support components and it still was under 2k, id be happy with it

a properly tuned 150 shot on the stock motor will pretty much hang with any twin turbo, single turbo setup on these motors.

as long as it is done right, you wont have any issues. i would do a utec and a nice wet kit if i were you. the utec can fully control the nitrous for you...

NOS is the best hp/$ mod you can do. The problem is that you can't have it all the time or the price will add up very fast with refills.

I had a Zex kit on my Accord for a couple years and ended up spending a ton when it was all over, plus I could not play whenever I wanted because refilling the bottle and $$ made it a pain.

I will never have NOS again unless it is on top of a turbo kit. I like power on demand and all the time. It's worth the extra money to me. In your case you might only use it here and there so the cost won't add up as fast. I'm addicted to the power.

Bingo--

yes its a poor man's turbo-- honestly just save up and go all out is my advice...

We've had a few guys blow some rods around where I live on spray here.

Find a good vortech kit slghtly used.
