Question FI options for 2004 G coupe 5AT

I've had my G for a about a year & 1/2 now, and have already done some light mods (intake, plenum spacer, exhaust). I was gonna hold off on doing FI becuase I was seriously considering trading in the G for the evo X, but after I rear ended somebody, I put on the Nismo bumper and ionic grille and just scrapped my stock parts. So now I know it's gonna be hard for me to trade it in without getting the value of the G raped by a stearlership, so I think i'm just gonna keep ot for longer thna I planned.

I know all the FI options out right now for the G, but I don't know if can go on the 5AT model. I've been looking around this froum and have seen a couple of ATs with TT & SC. I just want more info about what options I have for FI.

3rd post and alerady knows 'stealership'
I'll bite.

Greddy kit is AWESOME for AT-- Don't let anyone else tell you different-- in the F/I world, You'll be glad you bought an AT (After a VB upgrade and tranny cooler)

Greddy kit will fit fine-- NO problem-- Some guys like to move the wastegates or something becaues they think its fun? But the kit is completely bolt on-- Get someone who knows what they are doing so they heat wrap a few parts and peices.

You can go supercharger too, But thats like buying a 50" Samsung DLP when the 61" is only like 400-500 more.

If you do make the mistake (Just playing SC guys) Go vortech, you can actually crank some nice power out of that.

Thanks for that info, I was thinking of going FI before but I thought that the Stillen SC was my only option, and I didn't really wanna go with that set up. I was already thinking about the VB upgrade even before considering the FI. Which VB upgrade do you have?

Hey, what's up bro! I hope everything worked out with your bumper and the grille. One thing that you should definitely keep in mind here in Cali is that the only street legal (CARB exempt) options are the Stillen supercharger and the Vortech supercharger. There is no T/TT kit for the G that is legal in CA. Another question is what is your budget and what are your goals (power wise)? That will also help to determine what you should do. Also, are you planning on building your engine or going with the stock block?? These are all questions that you must answer before you can really make a choice. Good luck bro.

What's up Hexx. The bumper and grille wprked out great, thanks for the hook up again on the grille, it fits perfect. I had the same problem you did with the color being slightly lighter than stock. My bumper still needs to be color sanded and buffed. As for the FI, i'm still in the researching stage, so I still don't know if i'm gonna follow through. Yea, i know about the carb laws & stuff. I don't really think that i might do a full engine build, but who knows. If I get the vortech, do you suggest an engine build? My car's a daily driver so I wanna be able to keep it running well and reliable.

Cool. I'm glad the grille worked out. Well, the beautiful thing about the Vortech is that it is awesome with a stock block. The power is very linear so it doesn't put as much strain on your engine as a T/TT does. A T/TT can get a massive amount of torque early in the rpm band. That definitely puts a lot of strain on stock components. With the Vortech, you don't have that problem. The hp and torque builds as you go through the rpm band. If you drive the car normal and don't take it past 3500-4000rpm, you won't even be in boost so it is almost like driving a NA car. Of course, once you punch it and get into boost, you can really feel that power kick in. My car is a daily driver and I love it. I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with the Vortech.

So does the vortech take less parts and upgrades than a TT set up? I'm not trying to do too much. I'm pretty much trying to keep it at a minimum. Besides the SC kit itself, did you have to buy or upgrade any other parts?

If you buy the full Vortech kit, you don't need anything else. It comes with everything you need.

Keep in mind the JWT kit is awesome. Very reliable and at my current settings the car drives like stock (shifting). It is also great on the stock block (I've seen JWT owner driver past 25,000 with no problems). It's my daily driver and I would not choose anything else over the JWT kit. Contact Scott at Relentless Autosports, he can hook you up with a great deal and get your car done very very quick. Let me know if you have any questions.

But his problem is staying carb legal so the only options are the stillen and the vortech. And i say if you want a lot of low end grunt go with the stillen stage 4 but if you want more power go with the vortech.

I would definitely go Vortech in your situation. Plunty of people buy it to get their feet wet in F/I then quickly relize that TT is the way to go.

You can get some crazy power out of a Vortech supercharger...

As far as my VB upgrade, it seems all the places have the same one-- but im going to order mine from Z1 because of the 400$ core charge is a good deal.
