Aren't these STS Turbos the ones that had tons of reliability problems, and then the company denied any responsibility?

NO, and were did you get your info? If you read the complete thread in MY350Z then you'll see the entire story.

There are 2 customer that had problem that created all the drama in that thread. 1 was an order Cancellation Problem and the other one Hydro lock his Engine. Both customer went online to complain instead of dealing with STS first. If I'm not mistaken, STS took care of both party and problem has been resolved.

Now, let me give you a quick summary on the Hydro-lock Engine coz this is the only Car that had major Problem. The owner rushed into the Forum and complained about his problem even before giving STS a chance to help him fix or find the culprit of the problem. For some odd reason, all 5 Injector stuck Open and that lead to flooding his engine. The unit is now sent back to STS to see if it was the Injector, Utec or install error. It is very odd to have all injector stock open but I won't go there coz the shop is very reputable. The shop even checked the Base Map to make sure everything is ok. The car ran for a few sec. and just died coz the injector just keep flooding the engine with fuel.

There are about 6 tester and all of us has good experience and no major problem so far. I have about 6K miles and some has 15K miles problem free. There are others who had purchased the kit, and as far as I know there are all running good. There are at least 2 who did their own install in their garage and are all running fine.

When TN first came out they blew a good # of Engine, OverBoost problem, Wastegate Pipe falling apart, AC line melted...etc. Even Vortech is having problem right now. Beside one person I'm damn proud that everyone who had this kit installed/tuned right are all running problem free and that says alot for a starter kit.

One of the tester went to FL just to see what Jeremy (PF) can do and I think he did a good job tuning it.

I installed mine in my garage in about 20 hours. The install went relatively smoothly with a few minor set backs. I did have a few issues in the beginning but they have been worked out now.

Overall I'm happy with this kit and get tons of compliment on the sound (b/c the turbo is in the rear u hear everything). I have also surprised a couple people on the highway.

Looking ahead, I just purchased some FI HFC and about to purchase a Y-pipe to accompany the HFC. I plan on getting a before and after dyno when I get them installed.

/\ I'll be careful about upgrading the Y-pipe. Daniel over MY350Z opted out with a 2.25 Invidia TP and that helped him improve his Spool over his HFC. Opening up the exhaust to much might loose some of the velocity so be careful. If I were you I would go start with a 2.25 TP or a good HFC and do some heat wrapping first. I'm pretty sure that combo alone will help you spool better and keep the heat in the pipes

Are u still running the stock Y-pipe and Cat? So by adding the Y-pipe and HFC, you think I may have a negative effect?

I'm still running stock Y-Pipe and CAT but I do have a TP ready to install at the end of the summer. This really depend what diameter are you using for the Y-Pipe, I'm just afraid that if you go to big of a diameter that you might loose velocity on your exhaust. There are 3 STS Cars that I know that are running TP and all of them has a 2.25 diameter and so far all did improved their spool time. There is one car that did put some heat wrap (still has CAT and stock exhaust) and that also improved his spool time. I think it is safe to say that combining both TP/HFC + Heat Wrap will help with the response and spool time. Well if you want you can try swapping your Y-Pipe but no one has done it before so you will be the first one.

where do the oil lines tap into, I think I must have missed that, do you have to tap the block or is it from a spacer
also i checked out the site for STS and I cannot find a place to print out the directions for the installation

Manual only come with the kit but I can email you a copy of the manual if
you want. It come with an adapter between the Oil Filter for the Oil Line going to the turbo and the oil return line goes to the PCV crossover tube (I think passenger side). The Oil Pump does the pumping back since gravity cant do it. There is no drilling or tapping on the block so going back to Stock is easy.
