Twin Turbo

When will the power enterprise and top secret twin turbo kits be available for the g35? I know that PE has it for the Z, but has anyone heard anything yet on the G? So far, all that is out, (made for the G), is the Greddy.correct?

No, the Greddy hasn't been released yet either. Some sites have it for sale but if you try to order it they tell you that they haven't received them yet from Greddy. Not sure when Top Secret or PE will release their kits but I know you have to get your ECU flashed for the PE kit so that's another $500 on top of the kit which is already very expensive.

Re: Twin Turbo

The GReddy turbo has been released. I know because my installer has it in his warehouse waiting for me to bring my car in to install it. It's just too snowy up here in Toronto for me to drive it over, and then once he does install it, all I'll be able to do is drool and stare at it in my garage because the weather is too crapy right now. I told him I would bring it over around the March timeframe.

Re: Twin Turbo

I am not sure of the total price yet, probably somewhere around $13000 CAD labour included, and they told me that they would probably need a week to install it. I'm sure that they have other jobs on the go at the same time that they will be doing mine, so they suggested that it would take that long.

The bumper does not have to be changed unless you want to, but I'm going for the sleeper look for now. I might change my mind down the road. The intercooler will fit behind the stock bumper with some modifications, so that is what they will do.

Re: Twin Turbo

How do you figure 13k? The kit is 7000...I am not familiar with this turbo system, but normal turbos take about 8-10 hours to install..where is that 6000 going to?

Re: Twin Turbo

That kit is about US$2500 to install. Takes an insane number of hours.

Re: Twin Turbo

The shop told me it would take around 10-12 hours but they would spread it across the week so as to not tie up the shop from other jobs. So I figure if their rate is $100/hr, which is probably high, then the install would be around $1200 CAD which would be alot less in US dollars.

Using that amount then that would mean that the turbo would cost about $10,000+ CAD. Sorry I don't know what that is in USD.

I'm almost afraid to see the final figures when it comes time to pay up but I'm hoping it will be worth it. I also want them to change out the exhaust at the same time for whatever GReddy is suggesting to be used with the turbo.

Re: Twin Turbo

10-12 hours is nowhere near how long it will take to install. I've been reading my350z.com and they all said it takes 25-30 hours to install it. They're assuming Greddy said 10-12 hours for the installation to stop people from not buying it. The kit is already expensive and now to add on 30 hour of labor to install it is a lot. My shop charges $85/hr x 30 hours is $2550. That's a more realistic number. I saw the kit for a little over 6k on www.i-m-racing.com. It says it includes the intercooler but that might be a mistake because I think 6k is a low price.

Re: Twin Turbo

SRS is also comming out with a kit with twin intercoolers and such so you wont have to get a new bumper to accomodate the huge single intercooler that comes with the Greddy kit.

Re: Twin Turbo

I called GReddy a few weeks ago when I saw the SSR coupe underway. I had hope that I could do the same without doing a new front bumper. I was told that the dual intercoolers would have one hell of a time keeping the boost pressure up.

I'm no longer concerned with single, center intercooler. If the car in fact requires either a bumper mod, and or a new bumper, I will do what is necessary.

My sedan kit has started today with the stock parts being removed, and the kit fab and installation underway. The intercooler will be fabricated and installed next week.

Re: Twin Turbo

So what price do you think is decent for full install of the kit and tunning work done. Also the greddy kit does not come with the FMIC (frount mount) you buy it seperate.
