What's the word on HKS? (Rotrex) Supercharger

I've been sorta waiting patiently for info on when this supercharger would be re-released in the states. It's pretty much the only supercharger I want. I'm going by all of the reviews about, reliability, low noise, and quality parts. I'm dying to get my hands on this supercharger.

Does anyone know anything?? What's the word on the street?

HKS GT Supercharger

I've been watching this with interest as well. The new kit will use a HKS GT Supercharger not the original Rotrex design. The Rotrex employed a traction drive design instead of gears which accounted for the low noise level. The HKS GT uses gears so it remains to be seen if makes more noise.
I can only assume that the launch delay is either due to rumored patent issues with Rotrex or developmental delays. If it were close to release I would have expected the HKS Pro dealers to have some advance notice but to date nothing has been posted.

That's really a shame, because that SC looked to be the perfect solution for me. I've been considering the Turbonetics Single turbo setup lately. I'd love to have a JWT, but I'm just not ready for that kind of investment. Plus, I don't need to beat a Z06.

I just want something relatively reliable. I don't want to have to build my engine, and I'm thinking 360 to 380 whp would be enough for me.

The HKS S/C won't give you 360whp,
I have one I am estimating ~300-310 whp?. Run a 1/4 mile at 13.2
Doesn't have AWD dyno around here so i can't dyno it.

That looks like a nice car . But I believe you got one of the older HKS SCer's , at least thats what it looks like . They no longer sell that . Must have been a new kit sitting on someones self .

HKS has dropped the Rotrex style and now makes a kit with a Centrifugal style blower.

A full second off of the quarter mile is not bad at all.

Why not go Vortech - 3.12 pulley and a few add-ons? VERY reliable, wont kill the stock engine, nice smooth power band...not THAT expensive in relation to turbo's.

Personally, I'm not too in love with that Vortech whine. I want something more stealth. Plus it seemed the general consensus was that the HKS (rotrex anyway) was the best quality SC on the market. I don't need huge power gains. But something significant in terms of power, while still being reliable.. and relatively quiet.
