I had a bad walbro too. It would lose pressure short;y after truning the car off, too. I noticed the problem because my car's fuel pressure would drop to nil when I was on boost.

How did you find the PCV issue?
We found it PURELY by accident. After I hooked up the Consult II and released fuel pressure, I was checking the fuel line under the hood to make sure it was not under pressure any more.

I looked down and saw oil was leaking from the valve cover. So, I pulled 2 coils, and low and behold, it looked like the valve cover gasket was leaking, as there was about 1 ounce of oil in each coil tube - #5 was about 1/2 filled!!!

So - I also looked at my oil catch can - which collects about an ounce or 2 every month on average. I changed the PCV valve, after checking it and seeing that it was not opening all the way - put it all back together - all was suddenly perfectly fine!!

Since then - valve covers are dry and it all seems good. The problem I had, obviously, was a reverse 'vacuum leak' and potentially oil fouling. I changed the plugs yesterday - they were clean, but I can get NGK IX's for about $15 per set - so I swapped them anyway.

All in all - labor effort was the same - just a lot less messy and smelly - I was looking forward to the head rushes though

Rick
