How often do Walbro pumps go bad?
How often do Walbro pumps go bad?
Just installed mine last night and everything works fine. Just wanted a heads up on failure rate of them. Might pick up a spare if I need to.

The check valve was not closing so when it would first power up and push pressure on the line the fuel would just go back into the tank. So it was taking my car twice as long of a key cycle to start up. I replace the pump a while back and all has been good.

Do you have a return kit with a gauge? If so see if it holds pressure when you turn the car off. When it is good the pressure should go down slowly, when mine was bad there was no pressure in the amount of time it takes me to reach in the window, shut off the car and look under the hood (~2 sec).

Most oem quality pumps have a high pressure blowoff valve and a reversion valve to keep a turned off pump from spinning backwards and loosing pressure............unless injectors leak.
