Help! Engine bogs after shifts :[
hey Guys,
running an aps st kit with external wastegate on the unichip. I never usually go crazy on my car, i usually drive normally and shift around 3k rpms. however yesterday when i was coming back home from dinner, i decided to "let her rip" on the freeway. However, i realized that after each shift my car bogs for about 1 second and then returns to its usual pull. Is this because of my noob unichip? I realized that since unichip is a piggy back it takes away timing around 5200rpms according to my dyno sheet. Any suggestions on why this is? thanks in advance.

You can't feel knock but the sound I normally hear is detonation which is pinging. I can hear the sound of small pieces of stone hitting a sheet of metal, this is when I had detonation at real high rpms on my Vortech.
If your are experiencing bogging after each shift then I doubt it's knock as this would happen at high rpm like WOT and yours is right after shift, maybe it is lag but the small APS turbos usually don't have enough to feel.

good point.. Now I'm confuse which one to side with Usually you go back to your tuner after a few weeks just to make sure everthing is ok. It is hard for the Tuner to spend 24hrs in tuning to cover every possible angle so go back to GTM to be sure.

GTM should not charge you if the mistake is in their part. As long as you didn't add any Mods and didn't touch anything then they will take care of you

it shouldnt be $500 then GTM is smoking crack... Take it to Shawn at Churches if GTm wants $500... Shawn charges like $175/hr i think it should be a 20 min fix if its that.
Last time I had a small issue like this it only cost me lunch and $20
Good luck but doesnt sound like a major problem... whats your A/F at? usually you can tell by that
