Vortech

I too had the same problem with my unit. I sent it back twice and now I seem to have an issue with excessive oil in my system...which I hope has been eliminated.(see my post Vortech FYI) The rattling you here may be the rear bolt on the main belt gear. This was loose on my returned unit from Vortech, and the only reason why it didn't totally come apart is that the bolt stopped on my fender well!! I told them of my oil issue and they said return the unit, but they wouldn't send me a new unit...and this would be the third time!! Good Luck

Sounds like a bad batch of VT Blowers... let's hope Vortech puts it on their #1 priority.

Damn, now I really feel bad for the resellers. I guess you guys who are really dedicated to going FI will go with other options though, like twins. I think the reason I'm so p!ssed off is because there's something really fishy about it. They [vortech] seem to be blaming the users, saying that we're over-spinning the turbine. Hmmmm, I didn't realize I could do that with a 6600 RPM limit - note that they still replace everything, even after blaming you. There are too many components breaking on too many systems. Something very important was changed in the manufacturing process, be it intentional or unintentional. But if I had to speculate, I'd be willing to bet that some hotshot manager at Vortech decided to come up with a way to cut costs, by firing their long time parts supplier and outsourcing the job to Bangladesh. Unless of course they fabricate everything in house, in which case my theory goes out the window.

I'm in the same boat. If my blower goes bad again, I am going to switch to a turbo setup. Good luck on getting everything taken care of aero.

Just to let you guys know, the OP was banned for now so he can't respond to this thread. Kind of wierd how that worked out since he was doing a public favor by giving future Vortech owners a fair warning. Oh well...

My bad guys! I was trying to reply all day and kept getting this "permission denied" error, so I assumed I had been banned from posting, sorry for any drama. Looks like it's working now, maybe it was just a glitch, I think I break everything I touch!

EDIT: good luck to you guys too. I honest to God really feel bad about the negative impact this may have on the vendors. But if it takes a loss of money to get Vortech to shape up, hopefully this will soon be a thing of the past and we'll all be better off from it.
