Vortech FYI

I ran a post a few weeks ago regarding a problem with belt slippage, and excessive oil residue in my system. Well thanks to the members who suggested the GTM mod, the slipping is no longer an issue! However, my friend Adam, who heads up Devo Tuning noticed that there was some flexing of the mount plate and rearranged the stock pulley setup in addition to the GTM mod.It made the difference! As far as the oil problem( I don't know if anyone else has had this problem) he surmised oil was entering the system through the 3/4" case ventilating hose that attaches to the Vortech filter setup due to the vacuum created. He disconnected the hose and put a filter on it. He then ran a 4" silicon hose reinforced with aluminum flex piping inside the intake hose and routed it in front of the left wheel well cover, (no mods, no cutting) and topped it off with a k&N filter. It is a pretty slick set-up as the intake is now just in back and above the stock valance lower left intake.I'll keep you posted as to whether the oil issue has been solved...so far so good

what do you mean by rearrange? Also, have you considered a catch can?

Well not all the pulleys, but one in particular...the upper pulley. I'll send some pic's when I get a chance. I have heard of using a catch can. Where is it mounted??

Please post pics. When rerouting the intake, did you have to bend the AC lines or do any cutting to get it to the lower left valence area?
