Timing control box w/Vortech

Just bought a used kit and it came with the 5A001-352 box which is specified by Vortech as an 04G35 and the 5A001-353 is for the 03G35. Does anyone know if there is a difference between these two parts, I really doubt there is a difference between the 03-04 car. Thanks.

I really dont think there is . But to be safe I would call Vortech and simply ask them . I know there was some changes on the 04 1/2 ECU's .

I did send them an email to ask, no response yet, just thought I'd ask the members here and maybe someone was running the 04G35 box without issues.

I case someone wants to know, I talked to the techs at GTM for two reasons, one being this question. They did confirm that there is no difference in the timing box for the 03/04 and if Vortech answers I'll post that information as well. Either way, the real difference comes between the rev-up motor and the non-rev up version which is what I suspected anyway. But I'm going to proceed with the install with this box and have it tuned and if there is a problem I'll post so people can know for their benefit also.

An email to Vortech might take a while to get a reply . A phone call will answer your question for sure . There was some changes from 04 to 04 1/2 . Dont know if the SS box hooks up or controls any different from one to the other though .

Talked with Vortech today and they confirmed that there was some type of software change between the 03-04 SS box, didn't tell me what that was though.
I also talked with a couple of other tuners and they said that the 03/04 boxes are the same with the same wire connections. One speculated that it may be because the 02 sensor was changed to a W/B on the 04 and up. Is that true or was the 02 WB on the 05 and up and the NB 02 on the 03/04 cars?

Doesn't really matter much as I'm going to wire this thing up and take it to the tuner to see what happens, I'll just drive conservatively until that happens.

Any input is welcome.

Thats seems like a nice upgrade, does that mean that the guys/gals with the W/B O2 can splice in a gauge and get the true A/F of the car?
