500+ for under 10k?

Is this a realistic expectation? I really want to go TT with some sort of build included in the 10k. I keep looking at VRT's website but I haven't seen anyone post about them (maybe I'm just not looking in the right place). Any other suggestions in the California area? Also, how street legal is this going to be? Err, well, what I really mean is how badly are the cops gonna hassle me?

You're joking about VRT right?

You can probably get to 500 WHP on the stock block under 10k, but who really wants 500 WHP without a build. I would say have atleast 15k ready to go for a basic build, turbos, gauges, labor, etc.

.

You can get by if you do a lot of the work yourself. I know Kyle at IPP has some really good deals going on now for built short blocks (and long blocks).

Violating CARB regs and Fed Clean Air Act should place you high on the TASERABLE LIST.
Messing with CA enviroment gets you boiled in oil.

The main question you have to ask is will any mod detract in resale value [will the vehicle be saleable in future] and will I at least be able to recover 20% of the $10k spent or will You lose every penny?

Your motor will never last with a stock block at 500hp you are going to need some internal motor work to support those numbers. If you are mechanical then you can do some of the work yourself maybe be in the 10k range if not. I dont think so.

No way will it last. 10k will get you a good TT kit with install and tune but it's not safe for too long at higher than ~420.

Also, like the guys above said you will not be able to pass CARB...

Do NOT go to VRT...

ALso, $10k won't get you 500WHP safely. You'll need more than that, at least $15K, plus you should always put some money away for "jsut incase she blows" fund.

I like that. But if you go to Forged Performance, GTM, or AAM. I think you will be in great hands and on the safe side.
Thanks!

Didn't know VRT were still doing business?

Everyone should know that modding cars is not a financial gain project, you will never make your money back when reselling the car.

If you try and pull 500whp with a stock block it will not be long before things go BOOM. Also you live in california, why not just go with a CARB legal method of FI like the Vortech.
